DELAY IS THE WAY. Really been having a lot of fun with this though, looping bass tracks then guitar tracks!

that's the way to go, how is the octave on the ring thing? And how does it play with your green russian?

The octave is surprisingly great and tracks as good as or a little better than a PS-5, and it plays REALLY well with the muff. Legitimately sounds like a bass!

that is awesome, I cook through octave pedals trying to find one that grinds with my fuzz war the right way
think I just should have kept my OC2 sometimes

skullservant wrote:This is what I've been working with recently. I've got the Ring Thing set really only as a pitch shifter for two octaves down to turn my guitar into a bass. I was pretty unhappy with things a few days ago before I realized my TimeFactor was set to line-level output instead of amp level, it made a world of difference.

Madbean Optocomp -> TC Polytune Mini -> ARC Gamut -> Madbean Egghead Overdrive -> Sovtek Muff -> Timefactor with Aux Switch -> DD7 -> DL4

I'd like to bump the DD7 onto it's own board with the DL4 and replace it with a stereo reverb at some point.

WHOA! That is a whole world of SECHSY right there, good sir. Beautiful, beautiful stuff.

it looks fun, do you use the DL4 for looper because it is the best looper or because the delays are better on the other?

Ugh, now I cant stop thinking "how does it sound" and probably will be until I can try again, tomorrow...

How do you like the Effectrode Compressor? Better on guitar or bass?

Best compressor I've owned & used, on anything...but if there were ever a pedal that should be mandatory for bassists, this is it.
It helped me discover that I'm not really a fan of compressors on guitar...and tend to prefer more dynamic sounds, especially with dirt.

It behaves like a legit LA2A minus the UTC input/output trans coloration, but has a unique velvety tone of its own due to the subminiature tube type used.
If you've ever had the opportunity to plug direct into a legit old Teletronix rack unit, this lights up faces in a similar way as it smooths the attack of notes, while beefing up the tone and ironing out fret noise.

It ended my compressor search nearly a year ago, and I have no desire to part ways.

They can be found secondhand for about $220-250; but knowing what I do now, I'd pay the msrp for another. Everything Effectrode makes is :excellent:

I use it for the looper! I'd like a little more loop time with it, but I use it mostly for half time loops. BUT now that I have the Ring Thing doing the pitch shifting, I might not use the DL4 anymore. I dunno. I do kind of like having two sets of loops though
