I've got a 3" diameter, 3' long piece of cardboard tubing sitting right here...might work. I'll bring it with me tonight.

Really any size cardboard tubing, if its too large you can cut it down and fit them inside each other to build up a shell and also reduce it to the size you need for the speaker.

That is probably perfect!

Here is a pic of the backside of mine so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about:

HELL YEAH! Bring enough for a couple and we'll make the AW guys a present :D If you have any mounting hardware that'd be cool too. I might actually have something that would work, lemme look around.

That reminds me that I need a second mic. I've got a kick mic that I use for my bass cab, but I need a higher frequency one for my guitar ring so I can record stereo

I used a LP pickguard mount that I bent into a U shape and then bolted onto the shell, then I bolted a tom drum mount onto that with one bolt so it can swivel as necessary to get better angles while on a stand.

Audix i5 my friend, you can get em used for around 60$ and i prefer them to sm57's.

I'll have to look into them, thanks man. I don't think I'll be able to afford any sort of gear for quite a while with how things are going, but when I can this will be up there in priority

Those are great mics as well, i've used them numerous times. But they are not as cheap as an i5 nor as multi faceted IMO. They sound great on electric guitar and toms but don't work great with vocals or as a secondary mic on bass like the i5.

Any of you guys using the Zoom H2 for recording gear demos/soundcloud clips/etc? Good shit??

I have the e609, nice mic, haven't tried the e906 yet. Also have a trusty sm57 but don't use it much.....

I actually really like e609s on bass. But, I usually have like...five mics and a DI when recording. So...eh?

That's the way to go if possible imo. MOAR mics always good.

I have the Zoom H1, the cheaper little brother and rehearsal recordings sound very decent. :)
