Gilgamesh for World Lit. class. Read it before as a kid, so I should ace my upcoming quiz. Why the fuck isn't there a Fuzz on the market called Enkidu? That could be the next in line for the dude that makes the Wendigo and the Yeti fuzz

plus a java for beginners book...cause I've never learned an event driven language. Not that I'm an expert in any language, but I've dabbled here and there with Cpp and QBASIC and the like. Python looks pretty sweet too.

How Music Works? I've only read a little of it but it seems very informative. I gave away two copies as Christmas gifts, gotta borrow one back sometime. The cover itself is super cool, too.
Yeah that's the one, forgot the title for a sec. The cover is sooooo nice I just want to touch it.

He does many things that make me wonder if they are cultural or just him making jokes. For example he likens all the character's faces to food. (His face looked like a dumpling before it gets boiled.)
Looked it up, the english translation is called The Republic of Wine.
Still haven't finished it, but I'm loving the audiobook of the first part of Patrick Rothfuss' The Wise Man's Fear. This dude writes really well.

One of these days I'm going to make myself read that, but I don't really think I'll enjoy the experience...

I couldn't bring myself to read it. Her writing is horrible.

Her writing style is indeed different. The amount of em dashes (--) is remarkable. She certainly knows how to make a run-on sentence into an entire paragraph.
I don't mind this book so far. It's a large book, so it certainly takes a long time to read. Before this I read McCarthy's The Road and Plath's The Bell Jar. Great books. Plath was an incredible writer.
After I make it through this, I've got two books from Danielewski and another Rand book to read. I have a list of books I need to buy.

Re: What are you reading?
I always pick up True Norwegian Black Metal from time to time. Great photos and the old newsletters and interviews at the end are cool as well.

Just finishing up this one:

Less historical and more analytical. Really enjoyed Hunt-Hendrix's 'Transcendental Black Metal' essay.
Also working on the Quantum Thief (I'm more of a non-fiction guy so this one doesn't get as much attention)
