Mega Variable Degrading Loops is my local Samplers Union Chapter #78704... Yall wanna join???
Anyway... I got the MicroSampler working with the MiniTaur today... I figured out how to quickly capture a Moog sound and Poly it and hold it then Drone the incoming Moog sound and still use the Axiom to Solo over the top... All with the Minitaur...
The Micro is gonna be great for what I want it to do... I can use the KP3 to stack loop drones as always and use the Micro to sample and loop and play over the top all with one source...

It's actually a lil of both... I am still figuring out how to use each mode to my advantage... I was running the Minitaur into the MicroSampler and using the built in delay and just letting it drone then I switched to a string sample and was playing chords and solos over the top... I could have sampled all that and assigned it to a key but I was just making a drone piece... I'm going to figure out the key next feature that lets you set up a key range and assigns each sample to the next key when you press it... You can listen to a song or whatever and each time you hit the key or sample it'll save it and move to the next note... Kinda cool in the demos but we'll see... Hopefully I can get this rocking and post some clips soon... SOOO MUCH NEW STUFF...
so u can loop stuff seamlessly live? thats one thing i wish the sp404 could do, that and a super simple pattern recorder that doesn't involve a sequencer or bpm that isnt a separate mode u have to stop and get into first. just press to arm, then play your pads/rev/mark/etc, press again and it loops back your button presses (ala monome/MLR). even like a xx second boss style looper would do it for me. (like loop capture on the sp555)
*thinking outloud in my head* the processing on the 404SX is pretty damn fast tho. i wonder if u could use the resample/rec like that? i gotta try that
Do you have a KP3??? I've had every KP and have stuck with the KP3 and the Kaos Mixer which is rare but lets you do the same...
Korg Samplers are weird and this one is supposed to be all the sampling formats or styles in one... The KP3 has those 8 pads on top and if you set the BPM you can sample 8 bars to those pads and cut it up... The MS does the same thing but you can cut it up live to up to 36 bars or keys, depending on sampling time... It's like a Manual Auto Chop...
So far so good with the process and I am sure to learn more on this beautiful Sunday...

YES AND NICE AVATAR SPACE SHERM...
I don't know what I did, well I know exactly what I did and expected the exact results that were extracted, but plugging the Opus into the MiroSampler and switching back and forth between Opus and Mic and using an external control to vary the delay time and feedback and sampling while looping while playing is really The New Thing To Do and you should try too...
I loves my Microsampler Paid $275 two weeks ago Now I find they are discontinuing them and they are blowing them out for $225 http://www.hellomusic.com/ec/DealMain.aspx?did=14602 The only way I could be happier is if it had tubes and was a keytar
