Re: Breaking Bad season 5
There's no doubt in my mind that the flash forward we saw before the opening credits is going to be where walt is at at the end of part 1 of this season. When you see walt swapping cars to the one containing the m60, you see him carrying a duffel bag - the same duffel bag he shoved all physical evidence of him killing gus into right after the opening credits. Walt then stores that duffel bag and the lily of the valley plant he used to poison brock into the trunk of his car. However you don't see walt carrying the lily of the valley plant during the flash forward, just the duffel bag, this leads me to theorize that jesse found the plant and either is going after walt or is threatening to snitch him out to the dea/police (less likely). So walt took advantage of saul's guy that could make him dissapear and walt took off, allowed his hair to grow out, bought new clothes and glasses to disguise himself, etc. Walt either bought the m60 for an epic last stand or just for excessive protection, its hard to say.

It was a trash bag that he shoved everything into but I do really like your theory although I think Walt is too smart not to destroy all that shit.

It WAS Saul who poisoned him, Walt and Saul have that falling out scene where Saul mentions "doing what he did" type of thing.

Re: Breaking Bad season 5
I'd like to discuss the opening scene of S5.
There were a few moments which really stuck out to me. The first is Walt in the bathroom: first of all, he has this cough...it could be a red herring, but if you connect it to the same cough he had at the end of 4x11 Crawl Space, perhaps his cancer has returned? The part which refutes this theory is his full head of hair, but maybe he has decided to forego the chemotherapy and end out his life in a violent manner with that gun. Then again, what are the pills for? I can't see Walt as an addict unless it's like abusing prescription pills for something... I'd say the gun is a good idea of where Walt is heading: the end.

Re: Breaking Bad season 5
Episode the second didn't let me down. Mike continues to be a stone cold bad-ass, the likes of which have been equalled only by Boba Fett (although I'm starting to get behind the theory that he'll eventually turn on Walt, whether he wants to or not) and I'm impressed with how long they've drawn out the Hank V.S. Walt tension although shit is probably about to go down after what we just saw with Hank in the office. I also like how they're making Walt into Gus, essentially, which is made even more interesting by what Mike says to Walt in the sneak peek of next week's episode: "Just because you killed Jesse James doesn't mean you're Jesse James."
Awesome.
Awesome.

I wonder what if Skylar is going to come to grips with what is going on, her losing her soul. WALT IS THE DEVIL.

Re: Breaking Bad season 5
I wrote this post on reddit during the episode yesterday. I tried to eliminate some of the redundancies:
I am sincerely enjoying the amount of Mike we get to see these days.
Anna Gunn is absolutely killing it as Skyler. You can taste the fear in her every move; she's helpless and trapped.
Walter "winning" against Gus has turned him into sort of a hot-head. He believes he has ascended into some sort of god of meth who doesn't answer to anyone. All of a sudden, he owns Mike? Bold statements...
This plan is brilliant -at least it seems that way for now. This would effectively allow them to move from place to place without raising too much suspicion. Now, if a batch goes bad or something leaks/explodes, then they'd have a major problem. Or if someone's still in the house as they cook...
Skinny Pete WTF.
Getting a strange feeling from Todd. It's nice having another cooking montage, though.
Tonight we saw one of the most important moments of the relationship between Walt and Jesse. Walt admitted to Jesse, without any sort of provocation, that he trusts him. They discussed relationships and love...when was the last time they did that? This was certainly one of those moments which reminds us how Walt and Jesse have something like a father-son relationship....but then we realize that Walt was simply manipulating Jesse for his own protection. ...which is then followed by the quite terrifying breakdown of Skyler. She has reached her breaking point...I don't think she can keep a lid on it anymore.
Always new depths for Walter White...holy shit. Using her infidelity as an escape is dirty... Him idolizing Scarface minutes later doesn't help his image either! Great symbolism though, and obvious foreshadowing.
The final scene is very interesting. Jesse is somewhat...disgusted(?) by Walter's recounting of Victor's death. Walter has no issue discussing violence, and has no more interest in Jesse's personal life as he appeared to have earlier. Obviously Walt is playing the chess game with everyone, even his own fake-son.
THE HAT IS BACK NEXT WEEK AHHHH.
