Radiohead live is phenomenal, but they have techs who switch out their extra instrumentation on stage (depending on the song), making them uber-evil corpo rock douches of the most grievous and abominable order.

You mean people who hand them guitars and move their synths/pianos?

I can't win.

Anyways.
Jonny's still rocking some of his classic pedals: DOD 440, Small Stone, what looks like the Shredmaster. He's using the WH-4 now (instead of the WH-1...which probably broke by now), and the pedal Space Echo instead of the big version they used to lug around (he really likes the second footswitch, too). The Akai Headrush is still getting love, as well as the KP2, for looping and sampling. Wah pedals are being used for some of the new material (most notably Feral) and I can't tell but that might be a Freeze next to the Small Stone... Probably not, though.

During this TKOL tour they have a full second drummer with them (Clive Deamer of Portishead) and during the beginning of this song, four of 'em are going at it on the drums. Sounds immense.

I hated that shit when Motley Crue did it 25 years ago too. Just stand up on stage and play. But that's just me, and I accept that there are people out there that want to see these ridiculously elaborate stage shows.

I don't have much of an opinion on that, personally.

Though, within the same month, I saw both Rammstein and Guitar Wolf. One of them was the best concert ever (and I don't even like the band in question that much), the other made me want to hit a middle-aged japanese man in the crotch with his own Epiphone SG.

(of course there was also combichrist, who might have been playing Karaoke for how much their show screamed 'prerecorded.')

I'm not sure that's even a fair comparison. Though perhaps seemingly similar, the intent of those two musics is very different.

Awesome sounds wrung from (mostly) non boutique effects.

The other guy's name is Will! He's one of my best buds. I build a LOT of stuff for this band!

It's really not fair at all, but I've been to a couple of punk shows in my day and Guitar Wolf was by far the most unpleasant.

Uhhhh, Muse's bass player ain't winning no beauty contests, that's for sure.

TB is a weird place, had to pop in for some Iron Ether info and couldn't wait to get the fuck out! Mad love over there for Muse and Tim Commerford. WTF is going on in that place, what's the average user age cuz that place is stuck in a time warp.

Sure. Why pay out a full member when you can just pay a tech.

I disagree, he's the only one that doesn't look like a fucking hobbit shit.

Man. Seriously. In my head, it's between Frisell and John Frusciante for the best guitar player in the world.

And instead of competing they just jam. And it's awesome.
I play.

I saw them a few years back and they bored the crap out of me! I think it was on the in rainbows tour. Don't think I've listened to them since.
