Maybe someone who has some insight from past experiences as to what's really going on and doesn't agree with it. :idk:

No that would be the Department of Defense?

Veterans have like experienced war and stuff... They like actually know what it's like and stuff... So wouldn't they be a better judge then someone that just watches Tv/internet and stuff for their opinions?

Dude's 24. That means that for his entire adult life his country has been engaged in at least one military action that was instigated by completely false data... and he had the resources to know that.

Secondly, anyone who joins the military is complicit in killing other people. That's their job. To aid and abet the killing of other people on behalf of a few people who make foreign policy decisions.

It doesn't take a genius to realize that. It definitely doesn't take a genius to realize that war is a bad thing, and anyone who realizes that only after they've directly benefited from the perks soldiers receive (have you looked at the family health care costs for a military family?) doesn't deserve a dick's inch of my respect.

If he joined up for the money... that's completely and utterly reprehensible.

I have friends who are soldiers, but the whole notion of being "veteran against war" when you are or have been a war profiteer is fucking disgusting.

Here's another wonderful quote from that link:
"He had been opposed to the Iraq war even before his first tour to the country."

Didn't stop him from signing up for the army after Iraq was in full swing, did it?

While I pretty much agree with ^... I'll bet a lot of them do not really know what is in store for them before they actually go off to war, and I could see how it could make someone do a 360 on what they believe.. or thought they did. Maybe I'm still to nice in the end though.. :idk:

No, you're probably right. And, you know, at the end of the day I'm not going to walk up to some dude and spit on him 'cause he was in the army or whatever. That's just not a very polite thing to do to another human being.

But uh, not to let the cat out of the bag here, but I'm not so down with the military as an institution and the glorification of soldiers simply because they're in the armed forces.

What a strange saying.

Were they like really valuable or something?

I don't know if it's a saying. I just know that, when I'm looking for a definition, I check the O.E.D.

And, by virtue of words meaning things, soldiers are war profiteers.

In other news, I found this pretty hilarious:
