Plus Behndy is right power jack on top as well please:
I have the TC Stereo Chorus Flange and it would tuck in so nice next to my time bender if it didn't have a massive chord sticking out the side. WHY WHY WHY??????????

That must sound huge.

Yup. It's wild and unpredictable at the touch of a button.

:?:
Why have the tuner in the FBL (and last of all places)?
I Can't imagine it would be very accurate after a Flanger Hoax and 2 delays that are being fed back into themselves.
Wouldn't it be just as easy to put it before the Rusty Box and tune with the FBL not engaged?

(Not trying to be a dick. Seriously curious.)

I can answer this question based on absolutely no knowlede: i believe he is tuning the feedback pitch!!!! You could also use it as a quick mute to shut off instant feedback, or last guess.....because it's what Aliens told him to do..... post probing.

Mid probe does seem to be the time when you would be most open, post probe you are busy gathering your clothes and taking your tips off the night stand.

The oscillation/feedback tuning would be my guess as well.
As far as muting the feedback, that's what the foot switch on the FBL does.
Maybe Aliens. Yeah it's got to be the Aliens.

I want to hear what you make with this set up.

I have some recordings of practices but hopefully we'll be recording proper by the end of the year.
I'll definitely post something once we do. :animal:

This probably the craziest things are gonna get for me. I may break things down into separate boards for different bands, but the insane sounds I had going with this setup are making me lean towards not doing that. All in all, pretty stoked.

The big one is a Creepy Fingers Foxx Tone Machine clone, and the blue one is a submini tube boost.

Well, the way the CHK CHK BOOM (maybe just this one) works is that the loop is always on, so I can use the pedals as they would normally be used. Then, I step on the momentary switch, and it becomes a feedback loop of whatever I have on. So, without me on that switch, I can just use my pedalboard as normal. Hence, tuner in the loop, fucks ungiven. I'm flattered that you guys thought so far into what I was doing, but I assure you, shit is NOT that thought out over here. I step on switch, things go "BWOOOOOOOOO".

nad wrote:Both Psilo and Orbiter on bass, yes. The Orbiter is more quacky sounding, and the Psilocybe is thiiiiiiiiick, almost too much at times. They both work fantastic on bass, and cut through a mix extremely well. They also take fuzz greatly, which is one of my problems with Small Stones (although I love them too). I prefer the Orbiter between the two, as it just sounds better in a band mix to my ears, and the Psilo can get a little out of hand sometimes (not always a bad thing of course). I had a Baby Quasar at one point but it was too subtle for me, although I'd like to try one again someday, or the DLX. Oh, and the BF-2 is one of the Best. Pedals. EVAR. I spent a shitload of money on fancy flangers trying to find something as good as Ye Olde Analogue Purple Mister, and never quite did.

Assmaster v. Black Cat:
The fuzz character is a little different, with the Black Cat being grainier/gravelly/whatever sounding, and the Master-o-Ass (silicon at least) is a ridiculously high gain, raspy, ring-moddy asshole. The switches can create volume issues on the Black Cat, which isn't a problem for the Assmaster. I always have both set for the mid-heavy / regular-octave positions. The clean blends is where things really get different, as the Malekko is more of a HPF / treble boost type of thing, which is why I think it cuts through a mix so god damn well. The Black Cat has an actual clean blend, it's your regular signal passing through. So if utter low end retention is your thing, the Black Cat works better. The Malekko cuts through with more violence, which is my usual preference.

For what it's worth, they are both outstanding. My #1 and #2 fuzz pedals, absolutely. #3 would be the Katanasound Super Bass Fuzz. I'm still searching for a true contender for #4...

:joy:

Do you run your phasers more for a slow sweep, or for a faster univibe-type wobble? I go for the wobble thing myself mostly. As long as they both retain low end and work in a mix, they're both worth trying.

You're right about the BF-2, it is a great pedal, even if it's not boo-teek and doesn't necessarily look super-cool on a pedalboard to snobs such as ourselves. Definitely worth keeping one in the bag o' pedalz, they're affordable enough for sure.

Interesting about the clean blend on the Assmaster, I have wanted one for a long time but wasn't really aware of that. I have a Depth Charge for Brassmaster sounds, but I get tired of the straight-up clean blend on it. I have been leaning more towards non-blend fuzzes that still retain the low end (Hoof, Pharaoh, Fuzz War), though clean-blend-with-a-twist pedals like my Team Awesome where you can blend a lot of dirt into the "clean" signal are interesting. I need to break down and finally score an Assmaster so I can have the long-awaited shootout with my Depth Charge.

Another flavor on the inexpensive flanger trip in the DODFX72B. Definitely sounds different from the BF-2, but a pretty solid "keep it in the toolbox" pedal.

Too bad the bypass is fucking bleh.

I'm into the wobble thing with phasers as well. Slow stuff I'll use on occasion, but it's rare. The EQD has a greater range of speed, it can go pretty fast but also sloooooooooooooooooow. The Psilo has a more typical speed range. I don't see how you could go wrong with either of those phasers on bass, I've actually attempted to build up my phaser collection before but those two are too much awesome!

If you dig the Depth Charge check out the Wounded Paw Attack Goat. They are very similar, and equally awesome. The Goat is pretty cheap too, and Preston builds good shit. I should still own a Depth Charge, I had a neato green one at one point too, d'oh. I buy too much poop, but even worse, I sell too much poop. I'm a poopuser.

Yeah I need to pick one of these up someday, but they seem to be getting rare. Cheap flangers are the best, I love the metallic shit. :joy:

Oh, and by the way, screw top jacks! We hates it... Well not really, but I vastly prefer side jacks. :animal:
