DIY Thundercatz?

Postby smile_man » Mon Mar 30, 2009 7:23 am

How hard would it be to make a Thundercatz? Would it just involve a Jaguar with a bifferent bridge and a Baritone/6-String Bass neck?

Thanks, aen. :omg:

We used a bronco bass neck. Keep in mind the bass VI scale is actually 30.3" despite romours to the contrary. You just have to move the bridge back, fill/redrill/tunerfy the headstock, attatch and go, for the bare minimum. However, the square part of the heel on the BB neck goes waaaaaaay up inot your playing area if you mount it on the jag body, so you probably want to rehsape a bit on the bottom.

It might be easier to mod a Bronco bass, actually. Just buy a bass Vi bridge of your choice (I would probably go Mastery if i were starting again) and mod that fuckin' headstock.
