NPD: Mid-Fi Clari(not)

Postby Lintybits » Wed Sep 10, 2008 9:16 am

Got the new Mid-Fi pedal yesterday - the Clari(not). It's an envelope controlled delay sort of thing with a nice fuzz to it. It's fucking nuts.

Did a quick video clip late last night, mostly knob tweaking. Going to try to do a better one once I figure out how to use it.

Holy flippin' hell! That is truly insane... some seriously weird modulated delay/backwards record-melting sounds live in that box. I likes it!

Of course, my first thought was: how can I get my hands on one to see what it sounds like on bass?

Ditto. I love my Glitch Computer, and the Pitch Pirate has always intrigued me.

remember!
if you turn the depth all the way up your in real time mode, which means no delay, the delay knob with now effect how deep the bends are.
carry on.

i dont know...
im still trying to find all the sounds my self!
if you set the delay all the way down, the depth all the way up the tracking around half and the blend all the way up thats my favorite "warble fuzz" setting...then! if you put the blend at half you have a setting that will flange! but only while playing C chords!
haha.
also in this setting the delay knob turns into the depth.
i should re-name these knobs to something stupid as they do more then what they are said to.

I picked up a Clari(not) a few months ago and am still amazed at the sounds I can pull out of it... or more accurately what it throws back at me. As a fuzz alone it's incredible but start tweaking the knobs and it's controlled warble mayhem. One of the best features is being able to easily go from total fuzz to sonic warble and also blend everywhere in between. I was so impressed that I got a pitch pirate a few weeks later. Took some hunting since most places were out of stock but it was well worth it. The first time I ran them both together my cat's ears went back and she flew out of the room... can't beat that review! Keep up the good work!
