even if the fucking pedal you're buying is said to be brand new, ask about it, ask for pictures, open the fucking box, at least check out the pedal if you're dishing out $450.

I tend to agree. I always ask for pics, demand on showing pics for this very reason for every online interaction, and in person insist on trying it out to prove it works. If it were me, I'd be pissed. Would have a very hard time "letting it go" if someone took $450 from me an gave me a fucked up pedal. I would hope that we don't have to start listing "this pedal actually works!" on our B/S/T adds. It's not really the purchasers fault that someone is a dishonest douche bag. Kind of shitty for you to try and make it seem that way too.

First, you can't tell if a pedal is busted on the inside by looking at a picture of the outside. You can't even tell if it's busted by looking at the inside, in many cases. So a picture proves nothing except that someone actually has a pedal on hand.

Second, asking a scammer if they are telling the truth is likely not going to help.

Word to this. And the other guy that ended up with the busted pedal for $450 (and more money to fix it) can get over it when somebody hands him his money back.
