The Source Audio stuff might work for Dubs without resorting to the editor stuff. (Apps or desktop? Out of the loop on Neuro world.)

But I would think OBNE stuff for knob-ish reverb stuff that gets to a ‘Tide/Strymon tier without having to get into deep tweaking. I haven’t gotten into their stuff, but the demos sound good.

I’m not sure I’m useful in this discussion beyond this. I’ve chosen Eventide, Lexicon, and the HX One, and that’s a different user experience.

i've been poking around on YouTube and was surprised by the Mooer A7. i rather suspect it doesn't sound quite as good in real life, but it appears to do the clouds thing quite nicely.

For imported cheap and cheerful, the Alabs stuff seems to be getting positive attention.

Not that it might help but.. have you looked at neunaber? I use their simple reverb pedal (wet 2 knob version) and it’s pretty nice, might want to look at their more tweakable pedal the immerse?

I'm a big fan, but I like my reverb really wet and blatantly digital.

I'm thinking about buying a Danelectro Breakdown pedal. It sound like a lot of fun for midgain raunchy between-overdrive-and-fuzz sounds, am I wrong?

I don't really know anything about Strymon, but isn't there the cut down "cloudburst" reverb? Would that do the job? Also you can get the big sky and timeline a bit cheaper these days now that all the church dudes are upgrading.

I'm probably not doing the same thing, but I like my trusty old Afterneath for that pillowly bloom.

the Stylophone theremin came in on Sunday, but i only got around to opening it today. on first impression it's kind of disappointing...it operates only on 6 AA batteries, the theremin sound is kind of thin and unappealing while the slider-controlled tone is overly aggressive, and when it's adjusted so the antenna works well it also makes sound when you touch the aluminum control panel making it tricky to adjust on the fly. i need to try running it through an amp, which might be better than the onboard speaker. well, what did i expect for the price? (less than $150) the drone synth should be better, because i've seen demos of it.

from what i've been seeing Big Skys are still around $400 unless you get lucky. i saw one on Marketplace for $200, but it's 90 miles away and i don't care so much that i'm willing to put 5 or 6 hours of NOVA/DC road time in. one of the worrisome things from this year is that i've hit a point where i'm never not tired.

It looks/sounds like it has a lot of potential I'd love to hear what you think as you get better acquainted to its peculiarities, if you end up spending more time with it!

it’s a lot better plugged into my amp. this eliminated the problem with control panel connectivity and greatly improved tone quality. it also seemed to improve the antenna response which i guess makes sense if it’s better isolated from the panel. i’m still not thrilled by the battery-only thing, but i think it’s useable now. the onboard delay is better than you’d expect, but i assume that like all delay circuits it eats batteries like potato chips so i doubt i’ll use it much. if i was an Exalted Boffin i’d try to convert it to outboard power but i don’t have that kind of knowledge.

i also note for the record that it has a lot of output gain on tap…unity gain with my guitars is maybe 30% of range.

ordered a inexpensive drum throne with a round seat for the big setup. i’ve found that the piano-style seat makes it harder to turn to the sides to reach the auxiliary boards and is also too wide. i’ll keep the bench, though, and use it with my keyboard which has never had a dedicated seat.

Got shipping notice on a custom bassiv neck I ordered a while back from Musikraft! I’ll post a picture when it shows up.. but I ordered it as a one piece maple in as wide as possible to fit on a bassvi with a reversed 70s headstock. This to replace the squire neck I have on my fenderbird bassvi I made last year.

Comming: Old Blood Noise Endeavors Signal Blender (in olive green), it’s time to upgrade from the boss LS-2, with better jacks.. and better jack orientation.. also a clean blend will be nice… man… I think by board is half utility pedals/boxes at this point….
And here it is
IMG_4125-compressed.jpeg
It does sound better.. um add less of its own sound than the boss, plus the clean blend adds!
