I have one in a 212. The cab sounds good. Wizard and Swamp Thing paired up.
But yeah, also called Wizard.
Need Eminence speaker recommendations.

Re: Need Eminence speaker recommendations.
Plan to order some Eminence later. Will be doing two Swamp Thangs with another pair. Can't decide which: Tonker, Governor, Wizard, Texas Heat, CV-75. Going to be using them in a Fender 4x12 with a modded Traynor YBA-1 as my 2nd half stack. Original plan was a 2nd amp for only looped guitar parts, but it sounds so good full blast next to my JMP and 1960A that I am experimenting with signal flow and dedicated sounds to each amp. Playing doomy, sludgy, stonery, postrocky, hardcorey, noisy jams.

I still love my Texas Heats.
They also record really well. You know. Not finicky about micing. Sit nicely in the mix.
*corrected to "not finicky", as it should've been.

Bought two CV-75s to run with a pair of Swanp Thangs. Pretty impressed with the Vintage 30 sound in my Marshall cab and they are apparently highly regarded as being similar to the old V30s made in UK.

Re: Need Eminence speaker recommendations.
Just my opinion but I'd say forget all of that. Go with the Celestion G12K-100s...scrap the x pattern thing and roll strong with 4 of the Celestions. I know I know...everyone claims Eminence especially for doom as I was once one of those people. I had eminence rigs for years and then someone outside of doom recommended Celestion so I said screw it and tried it. Picked the versions that could handle the most power...none of that greenback shit...and went all in. I have never been happier with a rig in my life. I've actually had 3 different cabs now with these GK's in them and I constantly blow hair back. Was able to stop carrying around 2 412 cabinets and go back to just 1 because these guys are so freaking loud. And before anyone asks...yes I doom however it's more in a sludge fashion. But even sludge requires the tone of doom so fret not. I've been sludge/dooming since the only "name" bands that were doing it at the time were Eyehategod and Crowbar. Basically way before doom and it's like became a more mainstream thing. Anyways back to my point...Celestion GK100...impeccable speakers and you will not be disappointed...

Loaded Texas Heat's into both my 2x12 cabs many years ago. No regrets, they've always delivered the goods.

Re: Need Eminence speaker recommendations.
I've got them in a 2x12 and Legends in a 4x12. Not super sure about the legends, they've got this kinda hollow sound to them when close mic'd. But they sound good in the room. Texas Heats always sound good. Might get some wizards or something for my other 2x12 just because?
