I need a new tone knob for my flying v

Postby VREEEEVROOOOOW » Thu Nov 07, 2019 5:27 pm

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff. Long story short, I play punk rock, so my tone knob is broken, and at today's show it flew away. So now I need a new tone knob. How do I make sure I buy something that actually fits? I have an Epiphone Flying V. The ltd ed 1958 all korina body one with the black pickguard, not the other 1958 "some korina" body with the white pickguard.

Any thing that fits a 1/4" shaft pot should work. The knob you are looking for is a black Gibson style bell knob.

I literally bought one with a skull on it. It cost $1 AUD, and it will be here... sometime... Not exactly expedient shipping, but hey-ho.

In metric that's 6.35mm for anyone wondering. Only some old ones are 3mm something but that's an uncommon shaft size now I think.

Yeah, let us know how you like that skull knob! I've seen them but too metal for me, or I never found glow-in-the-dark plastic ones. On a V they probably look tight tho.

@frodog Do you mean those skull-shaped knobs? I think they're kinda expensive (for a knob). I just got a super tacky knob with a pic of skull on it because it was cheap lol.

Took me a while to get a pic since i don't have a camera, but here it is:
