all my concentrated World's End Girlfriend listening earned me this rec from youtube.

idk, so far, so good, but I keep hoping it busts out some chaos sax or Damien: the Omen 2 violin scrapes or something to break the languid tension....

Welp that description had me sold enough to check it out at least. Prog & "heavy riffs" could go either way for me, but the other two are sure ingredients for success, so I had to have a listen. I really like this. The vocals are nice too. Sludge with traditional Eastern instruments? Count me in. Reminds me a bit of 夢中夢.

Yeah it's definitely one of the best things I discovered lately. Don't know the other band you're talking about but I'm gonna check them later for sure

The ending to this track is so fucking brilliant that when it arrives, I immediately stop whatever else I'm doing, including breathing. The entire track is magnificent. Hell, the entire album.
