I ran out of power slots in the jamstand, so I added the frap tools silta flying bus cable. It's mad long, but the keyed headers are such a relief from the naked prongs of the busboard, and it makes external module connections super simple. I also got the circuit abbey quad cable for 2HP modules, to try on my four pico drums, but it wouldn't fit, it's really for 2HP modules only.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Pico Voice ordered. I was down to 4 HP of free rack space a few weeks ago. Recent trades, externalizations and reconfig now find me with 74 HP free in the rack.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
huh. you mean a single cable to hook 4 separate 2Hp modules into? i am LISTENING.
..... do you mean 2 hp as in the width? or 2Hp as in the company? either way, that would be niffffffty. OFF TO LOOK.
also, looks like i have a trade ret to go for a Metropolis. means i'll probabbbbbbly try to grab a MN skiffer. anybody changed out the slidey nuts on one? i would wayyyyy rather have everything i use to be 3mm.

It's this lil guy here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/circuit- ... cable.html
Says its designed for a set of 4 Circuit Abbey logic modules, but should be ok with other 2 HPers as long as the connectors line up.

yurp! found it. ORDERED IT. pretty cool if it it works.
the MDLR case i have has HELLLLLZA headers, but it's a mess with 4 cables so close to each other. 2hp's are tinyyyyy.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
murrrrr. can't find anywhere to buy 3m vector slide nuts except someone in the Netherlands that is selling bags of a hundy for $3.50, with $27 shipping. because the Netherlands is FAR from me.
don't want to have to keep track, but might be easier to grab a pack of 2.5 Knurlies i guess?
i like the MN skiff, but who could i look at for around the same price, but would have a lid?
edit - nurp. never mind. going to try out the Befaco Jump Skiff. 3m slideys, power input in the back is better than the side. i'm into it.

Wow. This post made me feel things. Congrats on that haul!Deltaphoenix wrote:Well, my Eurorack sell off is going a little slower than I hoped. I was bummed initially but now I am all good with it.
I got my new Buchla case and sequencer so I have 17 of the 18 spaces filled in that case. The module I am getting for that space is called a Quad Transevent Generator, basically Quad CV designer where you can loop segments and sequence through the segments.
I also have a Deckard’s Dream on the way.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
After a lot of consideration and research I decided to order a ER-101. Might end up ditching the Mother 32 once it gets in and getting my Hades working 100% again to replace it as a voice.
Really excited to have the combo of ER-101 and Metropolis for sequencing, should open a lot of options up. Not even looking at the 102 for a while though.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
You will want a 102 eventually. I got both at the same time and I didn't even touch the 102 for 4-5 months, so whether you like it or not, you're gonna get good the the 101 first. I will say though, once you understand how the loop points work and start using them, you're gonna really want to look into how parts works on the 102. It's a fucking game changer. You can just slice and dice a simple sequence all willy nilly. It's fantastic.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I didn't think it would be that appealing at first but it looks very intuitive now. No doubt the 102 will come eventually but for now just the 101 looks like plenty. I've watched a lot of videos and think I understand like 90% of it theoretically. Still need to look a little deeper into the nuances but some things are a lot easier to understand once you do them.
How long have you been using it and what were you working with before?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I got mine in March I think? I was using an Ornament and Crime before. It's funny how similar they turn out to be as sequencers actually. Anyways, the only thing I think I miss out on is having something a little more immediate for the times I'm not up to planning out a sequence. But it's totally worth it when I have an idea and I can just make it happen.

I'm exploring the marbles more and more through vcv, having a logic module right next to those random triggers is fantastic.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
so..... fuck it. i do like having the larger faders, but since i'm going to have the skiff in front with some control stuff, really thinking about a WMD Performance Mixer instead of bringing an outboard mixer to play times.
so. peoples with the WMD PM - how you digging it? i would have to have it in a skiff in front, there's no room in my main case, so was thinking something like color code each input and have patch cables with colored ends to do a fast steup... does that sound doable?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I love the WMD PM, it does everything I could ask for except the aux send/returns are mono only, you can do mono->stereo by returning to a stereo channel though! That’s only a very minor complaint and in every other way it is fantastic imo.
