I still stand by my statement (of...opinion).

Even the old stuff wasn't "wow, my entire outlook on playing guitar has changed" with the exception of like, the 16SDD or HOG.
I mean, I'm not saying they're stuff is bad, just fairly typical pedal stuff that can and has been exceeded (especially quality-wise) by other companies and certainly as technology has progressed.
But, yeah, I was mostly referring to their work once the XO era started (I tend to generalize when I talk about anything, so :idk: ). I get that big box EHX was practically uncontested outside of rack effects, but even then there were companies that, imo, seriously rivaled their work like Mu-Tron or Boss/Roland. But that's all tastes, too.
Since I always forget:

New Ped Panda Particle V2 in a Tensor-size enclosure coming late summer

Later this summer we will be releasing a significant update, based around the same DSP platform as the Tensor.

New in Particle Version 2 (subject to change):
Stereo in/out (TRS)
1.8 second delay time
Soft touch footswitches
Freeze footswitch
Tap tempo with divisions
Assignable expression pedal
USB MIDI and firmware updates
Additional parameters via MIDI
Presets (4 on front, 128 via MIDI)
Smoother pitch shifting
Higher sampling rate
Higher headroom, lower noise
Smaller enclosure (3” x 4.6”)
One of my goals is to make it easier for touring musicians to integrate into their pedalboard. For example, it will power up with the previous preset so you don't have to worry about bumping the knobs. You can create more complex granular sounds by combining all of the delay and pitch parameters via MIDI, store it as a preset, and then manipulate the sound live using the Particle's knobs. We will share more information over the coming months.

So excited about that. Always thought the original needed presets. Tap tempo and hi-fi updates seal the deal for me.

Ableton took popular modular/guitar effects and turned them into plug ins, essentially.

That's awesome news regarding the Particle. That's one of the weirdest and most fun delays ever made.

In the meantime...

This appears straightforward with a decent amount of options. I'm not blown away, but if you want random modulation + tremolo, this might be an alternative to the Shallow Water.

Street price is $199 but early bird price is $175 using code EARLYBIRD at checkout. Early bird pricing ends this Friday at Midnight CST.

This looks amazing and sounds phenomenal. If you can actually recall settings via MIDI, this a must-buy for me.

Also, it has MIDI control and synchronization and a lot of smaller modules such as 3 assignable attenuators and 2 dynamic CV sensors for CV generation etc.

Not a big fan of the alligator clips, but am still pretty curious to see more because the Lyra 8 is amazing.

He said using standard parts would double or triple the cost. I can live with the quirkiness of the clips, if he delivers on MIDI I/O and keeps the cost at/below $2,000.

Yeah I get that and I can probably live with them as well. I think I read in the description that he's including a alligator clip to 3.5mm conversion section too, which would be useful
