Plus moar snax. Very interested in your impressions of this horny fuzz and how it compares to others in the same category, e.g., J. Rockett WTF, Basic Audio Zippy, Holowon Static Egg, etc.Dandolin wrote:![]()
Down in front: my Spitvalve is full....
I went bonkers the past 2 weeks with Cheapie Chinese clone purchases and have the following inbound (some literally via the slow boat from China):
Joyo Ultimate Overdrive
Kokko Phaser
Kokko Vibrato
Mooer Trelicopter
Mosky B Box Preamp
Mosky MM Silver Overdrive
Mosky XP Booster
Hopefully, the dud to functional unit ratio will be minimal.

I'll be sure to leave comments somewhere appropriate-ish.... I used to have a PTD Bone Machine; still have a Zippy and Static Egg. I can safely say from having cracked the back that the Spitvalve circuit is it's own thing, and pretty far afield from either the Bosstone derivative line or the Zippy.... I'll be spending some quality time with it tomorrow along with the Divvy and some other recent acquisitionsck3 wrote:Very interested in your impressions of this horny fuzz and how it compares to others in the same category, e.g., J. Double Knot came back from her operation at Lorre Mill feeling like a brand new woman. Chirper, PT Delay and 11fracwidth frame arrived from Tom Bugs. Nana'd Convulsion Generator arrived from Future Sound Systems. Radio Music in Bug format arrived from Mr. Batchas. Arcade Manifold arrived from modular addict and got built.
Metalbox matrix mixer kit arrived, but I (predictably) screwed up the soldering. Single sided PCB with some kinda flimsy traces, gotta be more careful.
New boards are in the mail for round2!

Corey Y wrote:I've been curious about who is behind Deadbeat, because of how aesthetic and marketing minded the products are, down to the packaging and fonts, but how low the price is. I can't assume they're original designs (at least relatively, I know almost everything is a copy in some way at this point), so I wonder if they're the typical Chinese OEM style pedals that can just be branded to whatever color scheme/logo a company wants. I've seen they have some prototypes of pedals that have a Moog wood sided styling. It's at least interesting enough to have caught my attention and make me wonder what's up with the company.
Exactly my thinking. They all look really rad, especially the "Station Series"....the aesthetic and options seem to be worth the price of admission alone, but HOW ARE THEY SO CHEAP?

the deadbeat chorus is the only one I would avoid, judging simply by what ive heard in demos. other stuff has my interest at that price point...

Christian & I chat on Instagram frequently, I dunno if it's something they do with everyone but I mentioned having listed a pedal so I could cop an Outer Rings and he was interested in it. Please don't go knocking down their door telling them I sent y'all with hopes of sick trades though
