More in-depth Zoia video.
I did not realize that this is basically their attempt at making an environment similar to Pure Data in a pedal format (like that Axoloti race to the pedalboard but with more colors and less computer programming).

This could be very handy for when you need something for a specific application but don’t need it all the time. Seems like a really weird thing to have on a pedalboard, but it makes complete sense for tabletop or synth folks.
Must have this ...

Agreed on the usage though, I see this as a toy/tool on my desktop.

I’m still on the fence about whether or not it’s something I “need”. If I were using this, a keystep, and a volca I could have a fairly compact synth setup with the ability to have multiple synth lines and effects with just those three things. But, I don’t know how easy/fun it’d be to be use that setup... Overall, I try to optimize how fun my setup is.

yeah--would definitely like to see more of how friendly this would be for real-time music-making workflow and tweakery. So far, it's striking me more as something I would use in recording set-ups, where it might have more difficulty separating from my euro/'puter pack.... I'd love to be shown differently though....

Having one for recording makes a ton of sense. Especially if you’re not using a computer for recording. The other big use I can see is for performing modularesque ideas live. Instead of repatching an entire eurorack live, you could accomplish a similar result with a few button presses on this. It’s essentially a eurorack in a box that you program via a grid and submenus.

edit: navigating menus and setting up connections on a grid probably doesn’t look as cool as repatching a modular, though...

I'm just excited to sit at home and make patches and then have my band mates look at me like I'm crazy when I stick a Lite Brite on my board.

I also can't wait to put one on my board and never stop worrying about it being stolen after a show

TBH, I’d be afraid to put this on my board. I tend to stomp all over my pedals/board. So, having a pedal covered in lots of small, highly sensitiv, delicate buttons seems like a terrible idea.

Ocassionally I like to put my entire weight on a pedal just because I can. I think this would destroy the Zoia
