It was intensely weird to record myself doing this. That moment when I realize I won't be able to keep talking with the cookie in my mouth. Accompanying notes indicate it's a Coque de Dinant and not meant to be bitten; you've got to suck on that cat.

The USB drive did, indeed, reveal all.
David tells me the CD is one of his favorites. He also included some music files of things he likes that might be otherwise unavailable. I love that personal touch.

I didn't realize upon originally opening but the Molecular Disruptor is actually a prototype for a new version. The momentary hi/lo switch looks like a genius feature.
The wires are accompanied by a nice introduction to programming for the Spin chip and instructions for how to update the pedal. This is another of those unknowingly perfect ILFsmas miracles. I've been interested in learning programming for audio for a while but I never wanted to spend the money to put together a setup for it. I'm so excited to see what I can do with it and the Molecular Disruptor seems like the perfect hardware base to get started.

David, I'm sorry if I was a challenge to you. I'm very happy with this gift.

If I had actually written a paper letter instead of some file on a drive, I would have avoided risking this near fatal dental accident. I just have such a messy hand writing ...
But you did handle the subtle art of getting rid of a piece of unchewable cookie in front of a camera very classily

Soooooooooooooo we got back from our regular ol fambly holidaze away yesterday afternoon, and I found an ILFmas package awaiting me on my front porch. I knew the second I saw the return address that it was going to be epic, since it came from Louise aka aens_wife. And indeed, it was full of amazing!

I'll spare you the unboxing, mostly because I was too impatient to take a video. The box was very nicely wrapped, though, and opening it was a layered experience. The first thing I saw was a pedal-sized box labeled something like "SPIN prototype," only crossed out with the disclaimer "NOT A PEDAL." Instead, it was a jar of delicious homemade raspberry jam! And then next to it was a red tupperware of my favorite type of chocolate holiday cookies (it took all of my willpower to not eat them all then and there). From here, the order gets blurry, but there was a little box with a cool pottery shard (possibly in the shape of Maine?) and a pin that made me chuckle. Plus a rad cassette that I will have to sit down and listen to.... and a sticker that will go on my bass case pronto.. and then a box with a pedal... in a grazer chassis with glitter obscuring the graphic... which isn't a grazer, but a prototype of the upcoming SUPER SECRET DWARFCRAFT PHASER, THE GHOST FAX!!!!! (it's ok guys, the cheat sheet said I could talk about it).

SOOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZEBALLS!!!!!

I haven't had a TON of time to sit with the pedal yet, but it is super cool (duh, it's Dwarfcraft, of course it is). The feature I'm digging the most right now is the "poles" control, which adds really cool ripply wiggly textures to the phasing - I'm sure that that's not an adequately technical description of what it does, but I'm going with that for now.

Anyhow, thanks SO MUCH Louise. Any portion of this package would have been rad on its own. Once again, ILF brings the holiday cheer! I'm already counting the days to next ILFmas...

Slight correction: the state of the pottery thing is Wisconsin : ) and that box is from your ol' pal Aen. My name is just on our shipping account. I did, however, make the cookies and the jam.

Well, dang! I guess I stink at guessing pottery shapes... though I kinda love that Wisconsin and Maine (land o' my childhood) could resemble each other, if only in my geographically inept brain. And Ol' Pal Aen totally fooled me! Secret Satan indeed... I'm sure that your Santee will be stoked for their package - you Hinzes don't mess around...

Also, I'm guessing the Ghost Fax will suit Ghost Hip mighty well...

For those interested, and cos it hasnt been posted up, this was my continuation of my ILFSS pedal series for this year.
Recipient was Aen. Next years pedal will probably be red

What kinds do you make? Do you grow the fruit?
I would have liked to send some of the elderberry jelly I make along with my gift but I was worried about shipping international.
