Pedals are at level of beyond epic this year
Hats off to everyone involved. Its such a pleasure to see and be able to participate and I thank everyone for putting their faith in each other to spread a bit of cheer.
I have had many first world problems this year, and probably the most roller coaster of my life
I started out facing redundancy at work and being out of a job for a few months. However, I had met the love of my life, and in the middle of out-of-the work low point asked her to marry me. Probably the highlight of my life so far, as she said yes.
I knew she was the one a long while before that of course, but the fact she didnt care about the job and had faith we would work through it together is pretty great. Before that we also found out that if we wanted a family we would need "assistance" which was also a massive thing to take on and sits forever in our subconscious; a hill to climb another year.
In the mid part of the year I got a new job, and she changed jobs, and now has a hellish commute. So while good, the stress of both trying new careers and her having to travel more was tough.
So we decided to try and move house, and that has been crazy, as at times it has felt like the chain of people (there are 5 parties involved) were all leaning on us. A week before Christmas it seemed like it had fallen through as someone messed up their finances. So thats in Limbo. Also end in November my Dad was diagnosed with Cancer.
The SS this year took my mind to a clear place for a week while I designed and built the pedal I have gifted to my mark.
Therefore, thanks again ILF and to the SS for a bit of unadulterated joy.
I havent spouted this shit anywhere else, and I dont know why I did now. Maybe it was the teary drunk unboxing.
Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone and all the best for 2018.
