Been curious about flatwounds forever, silly that I've never tried any in the last two decades that I've playing
I've got this cheap ES335 copy that I'm not really bonding with, using it as my noise/sludge/fuzz guitar. It's usually in G standard. It's my only humbucker guitar, so it's still fun to keep it around. Swapping pups to try to give it some more mojo costs A LOT more than first experimenting with string gauges, tunings...And flatwounds
Putting flatwounds on a semi-hollow body won't make everything sound too mellow/jazzy and kill the bite/treble/gnarl, will it? Loads of fuzz, loud clean amp, tuned down...Sounds like a plan?
