I'm with behndy, those buttons are an absolute deal breaker for me. I really don't mind different looking modules or modules that stand out, but those are just wrong

It will look cool in ruiner's rig though, definitely want to see that.
I love some of the bold aesthetics that have come out lately, like TINRS and Livestock, new Tiptop, etc.

Do you guys get into a kind of zen/trance when you patch?
I have been. It's pretty fucking awesome. It isn't quite that total transcendental experience I've had jamming in a band (only happened a few times). But it's close.

absolutely.. almost every time I sit down with it honestly :) I leave it on and fuck with it here and there while I play with my kids sometimes, but when I get to sit down alone with it for a while.. the magic happens. it's super therapeutic for me. part of why I love it so much :)
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

Yes! That’s why I do music. I’m convinced I get some sort of dopamine reward for doing it right, and am motivated to do music for biological reasons.

I picked up my drum for a moment this morning and started playing a little polymetric beat I've played a million times, and then thought "I wonder if I could make this on the trigger riot..." & Yes, I could. Very quickly. And in no time flat I was ripping off Reich's phasing technique.

But I felt compelled to share this not because that module is great or anything, but as a reminder (for myself, old heads, and new blood), keep playing music and other instruments outside of all this shit.

Modules are cool, building a system feels like an achievement, and I personally feel some sort of pressure to use it cuz if I'm not why the fuck am I spending all this money? But it has a time and a place, just like sitting down with a drum for no reason except to play has it's time and place.

Iunno, sometimes I feel discouraged with all this but I often come back around and felt like sharing this insight.

I have the day off tomorrow so I'm gonna bounce back and forth between the drum and the trigger riot to learn how to program all these sweet patterns :yay:

yeah. i'm not sure how i feel about that. like. not needing a midi to cv module? coooool. but it seems like it CAN'T do as much as the standalone bugger?

kinda wary about the huge feature set in the Pyramid, with already a smaller screen, being squished down further?

but i have INTEREST.

also, Wogglebug and Quadra ordered. YESH all the envelopes. YESH FINALLY RANDOM MODULE.

^ looks neat. A lot of deeper hardware sequencers hitting the eurorack market. I wonder what they mean by effects in this context, makes me think of the midi effects plugins in Logic.

Edit: I’m guessing it’s a standalone unit with connectivity options but maybe not?

sooooo..... OP-1 is super pimp. but i thought it did longer sampling, so not EXACTLY what i was thinking for a travel buddy? i'd love to have samples of THINGS, osc ramble noises, bass runs, whatever. then play with beats and melodies and arrangement when i'm out of the house.

i'm thinking of grabbing a Digikat. don't know if i want to sell the OP-1 to fund it, or wait and grab it to complement each other?

dilemmas.

Thanks for sharking that, kbit, I feel like it's important to keep in mind. I've not played much besides synths lately, but that has me feeling inspired to.

Also it looks like I'm getting a huge module dump on Friday, which is when I leave for an overnight camping trip
I should have a Wogglebug, Tempi, uScale II, and *hopefully* a Rings (which has currently in USPS limbo for 7 days) waiting for me upon my return.
I thought I timed everything to arrive on Wednesday, but the stupid genocide shipping holiday mucked up all muh planzzz. Damn you Cristoph Colombo!!!

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!
