Eliminated some fierce driving harmonics today.

Refreshed my passenger side outer wheel bearing today.

Thanks! Yeah, the grinding rumble while cornering was getting worse each time I drove. I've been terrible on upkeep lately (started noticing symptoms in the spring).

How did those get so bad? Are they wheel bearings ? Did you have water contamination in whatever oil they were running in??

Wheel bearings. The possibility of water contamination does exist, but the car has also gone through sitting spells. These are also old... not the 47 years on the spindle, but probably half that (I think I changed them in the late 90s). I'm chalking it up to wear & tear and a bit of neglect.

I was a caterpillar engine mechanic for 6 years before I decided to be an Engineer, and I did a lot of work on class 8 trucks. I dig working on cars still to some extent, but I usually just do it out of necessity and being cheap now!

That's a nice mustang!

Ours is fun, but it's still driving kinda funny (still gets rough at lights after a good 20 minutes of driving). The temp gauge is sensitive enough to know that it's like 10 degrees cooler outside haha.

Ripped out about 10+ feet of wiring and another 10 of speaker wire (speakers were zip tied to the steering column and carpeted over). Most of the wire went nowhere. Ran the tach to confirm the idle speed. I've gotta find where the flashers have gone wrong....the little relay is hanging in front of the heater core. Transmission is leaking a bit from somewhere...but I replaced the neutral safety switch...was going to wait until I rebuilt it, but I had to get it started (I almost just put a toggle in instead).

I wanna tear it all apart so bad haha. Not for a while though. I've got it driveable for now. Had to get it functional for some errands and stuff.

The inline 6 is fun though. Beats all the other cars off the line at stop lights until about 20 miles an hour.

My dad mailed me his old oxy/acetylene torch (he bought a newer, fancier one). Still gotta start scouring the junk yards for a 250 head....then I'm going to braise on a new intake plate. I've got the Mikuni 40 phh...but kinda thinking about going OER 44 racing carbs.

I'm probably going to have to run a weird cam for the c4 vacuum modulator and an electric pump for the power brakes.

Anyone ever run one of those dc inverter welders? They look kinda fun for quick repairs.

Bosozoku is kind of a going away from what I've read. Some neat stuff on some of those bikes.

Yea, I've got the mustang good enough now. Going to sit on it for a while and drive the heck out of it. Not something I really want to spend time on right now.

Check this weirdness out though:

Someone may need to import the bosozoku style and keep it alive. Someone with a mustang? :poke:
