Maths has a comparator incorporated, that's what's happening with the bottom three outputs: OR (maximum voltage), SUM (adding all voltages), and INV (inversion of the SUM). These outputs only use channels that haven't had their 1-4 outputs patched, and the settings of the four attenuverters is taken into account. Read that manual! :thumb:

He's too busy building a modular that has it's own gravitational field to rtfm, dude. Get with it.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

It's similar and you can do some neat things with those logic functions, but those compare two signals to create a new signal with some resemblance of waveshape (like "or" would be like two envelopes making a more complex envelope...like adding stages) and are not a pure comparator.

Max is going to give you a representation of the click track (and if that works, just used the amplified click track). There isn't anything to sum or invert really (single click in). The original click track may not also be sharp or enough volts to trigger some modules.

Comparator I was mention is a reference voltage compared to a second voltage. When the second voltages is higher than the reference, it sets high (+5v) and when not, it sets low (0v).

Circuit Abbey TripFire, Bastl Dynamo, Bastl Klik would be better examples of comparators.

Pulse Edge sharpening takes the through zero crossings (or start at zero) and uses transistor lag to create a short pulse from another waveform. Like if you ran an LFO, it would create a ms length pulse every time the LFO goes into positive and then go low again until the wave crosses zero. Neat for sync and stuff.

What those Maths functions would be useful for in this case would be creating more complex rhythms into a single pattern. Like run a few different LFOs into maths and then running the maths logic functions into a comparator or pulse edge sharpener to get some moving but sync'd rhythms with triggers or gates.

Should also mention that some triggered modules (like brainseed) have comparators built in on the inputs so that it can be ran by anything. Other modules are way way more temperamental about things like pulse length, amplitude, and shape.

What's a manual?

:snax:

I did read it when i first got it but need to read it again. Don't want signals interfering with my gravitational pull. :trippy: That kind of sequencing sounds interesting though!

Also just got this guy in! (more pics in the GAS thread for anyone interested)

Ruiner, how do you feel about the Mantis you bought?
The Mantis has been great. Haven't had any issues. Just wanted a different setup so i bought the case above. I may keep the Mantis for overflow but haven't decided yet.

I've been thinking about a Mantis as my first Euro case.

It's either that or a Make Noise System Cartesian.

Life is full of these difficult choices, it's a wonder anyone can get out of bed in the morning.

Cartesian looks like a really good starting system. Before I bought m skiff I missed out on a Cartesian with the Wogglebug replaced with Tempi. Was bummed, all the modules were black, too...

If you ever wanna let go of the Mantis, let me know first? :)

I know SOMEBODY called dibs but... now i can't remember who....

So unless that person comes forth and presents irrefutable proof then you have dibs :thumb:

w00t

Got Tempi in, switched out the Batumi for it. First impressions are good and its pretty immediate, but "human programming" is gonna take some getting used to. Without a solid reference of the leading tempo its a bit tricky to tap in rhythms. Will hopefully get easier with practice and in the context of sequencers. & whoever said it goes better with the Mysteron than Batumi was absolutely right. I need some stackables...

As time goes on Im realizing how much I miss some distortion with this business. How do yall dirty up your stuff? Need ideas for the future.

is there anything out there that will cut a section of an lfo or just use the top or bottom half if that makes sense? I know a vca can help me adjust how big or small it is but what if I just want a slice of it or squeeze it

What case is that ? It looks nice but heavy maybe ?

I'm staying with my 7U Intellijel, I have to juggle modules when I get new stuff now, which is not a bad thing. And there's the Mescaline coming at some point too, even though that's going to be a half-independent system...

And kids, it took me 3 or 4 years to fill something like that (I started with a smaller case and got this one last year).
You don't have to be all-in and you can take your time and still very much enjoy the ride :).

oh mannnnnn it is SO damn helpful to have color coded length sorting and have them hanging all neat and organized.

urf. i do need to order more of the blue and white length of the Black Market Modular cables, and i want another 30 or so stackables.

Rectification

Ring mod can chop up some lfos too (if you are looking for just part of the wave).

Yeah, half or full wave rectification will do just that centered at 0V.
