That Coke can next to the equipment is the kind of things that I avoid at all costs. No liquids in the near of my gear. Never ever! At a gig last year a guy kicked his beer glass against my volume pedal. I had to take everything apart and it smelled for weeks (oh, how I hate beer!). Thanks God - it was my only passive pedal on stage. I had been mad as hell if he had spilled it on my BOSS RT-20 (I played organ that day).

I did not! A friend built it, but I got it from another friend in a trade deal.

+1

Has anyone patched their Minibrutes' CV outs to its CV ins? I'd fux with it my self, but I don't have the cables and I'm not sure how this one handles its CV routing.

Yeah, for real.

JereFuzz's setup is also awesome. Great pair for getting into Modular. I've been thinking about it and seeing that provides a good starting point.

I've owned both now, and I support this decision. The biggest issues I have with the Mother 32 are solved by adding a synth like the 0-Coast, and vice versa

How are you liking the keystep/beatstep pro combo? How are you running those two?

They're two very different controllers really. moreso than i thought before I got them. The key for me is interconnectivity between all my stuffs, which they do in spades.
So i haven't actually linked it up yet exactly like this (i have done 80% of this setup though have no reason to believe it wouldn't work) but the idea is to have midi out from the keystep running into the beatstep, and the midi out of the beatstep back into the keystep

Beatstep =
1) master clock for keystep, line6 m5, (via midi splitter)
2) sequencer for drum machines via triggers, volca bass & keys via midi
3) analog clock master for Voltage Memory sequencer via format jumbler.

Keystep =
Arpeggiator for volca keys via midi / DS8 drum clone via cv

The idea then being I can use sequencer two and keystep as an either/or for the DS8/volca keys. Or even volca bass if i feel like it. I never owned a synth with an arpeggiator before so i'm finding that really inspiring and awesome with the keystep.

The keystep will also work as an analog clock MULTIPLIER, as in you feed it a midi clock and it will spit out multiplied analog clock signals depending on your arpeggiator speed setting. Very useful.

I may use the keystep for recording sequences into the beatstep too as playing melodies on those rubber pads totally sucks ass and programming melodies via the knobs is completely ridiculous....

I've been thinking about doing something similar. You could probably use that cv/midi clock output to set the clock on the keystep. I think you might be able to get around some issues because I don't think the beatstep pro outputs midi clock unless the sequencer's running?
