Also, I saw SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE (band, not the movie) on Friday and they were awesome. If anyone from that band is on this board, I was the creep looking at your pedal board after the show. But don't worry, your secrets are safe with me! Great show!
"SWIPE LEFT ASSHOLE!" -retinal orbita
"Whatever ASSHOLE here’s my pedal that makes humpback whale noises and also it has a built in sequencer so stick it in your craw! -retinal orbita
"Patty Mullen takes me from a ball peen to a sledge" -The Great Velvet Hammer
"...at this exact moment Divine has learned of your jealous scheme from the local town gossip. She also has your address, ASS HOLE!" -Narrator (Mr. J) PINK FLAMINGOS

Majority Rule is apparently going to play a few shows this summer.

Fucking awesome news.

A Place to Bury Strangers and the Black Angels on Saturday! I am so excited to see some guitars get absolutely destroyed!
So A Place to Bury Strangers totally killed it. Amazing and super intense set that opened with a guitar being smashed and ended with the whole band gathering around a case and making weird synth-y noise. I really want to know what was in that box.
Black Angels were decent. Although, I feel like I needed to be on way more drugs to actually appreciate it. The light show/visuals were great, but the mellow jam band feel just got a little tiresome by the end. Would have been a much better show with APTBS headlining in my opinion.

Edit: meant to quote that, apparently I hit edit instead :idk:

I'd like to catch something awesome by surprise. Which would also be a cool bandname

but I'd settle for making it to the two I circled in the calender:
All Them Witches in Zürich &
Snarky Puppy in Friedrichshafen...
aural conjunctions on SC

I hate moodswings are awesome! Oh, and I usually post when I'm way too tired...

I was there too! Can confirm it was excellent on droogs with that crazy lightshow. First time I've ever seen a mellotron live. I agree that APTBS should have headlined though. Tons of fun anyway.

Cafe OTO is such a great venue. A few years ago they did a "3 days of Jandek" type thing and it was pretty alienating.
Have A Nice Life are playing a slew of shows later this year and I'm kind of looking forward to it, just hoping they've sorted their shit out from their last live performance.

Yeah I'm really stoked to finally check it out -- I've had live recordings from there in my library for years and I've always heard rad things. Plus that performance looks to be pretty fantastic as well.
