I think the trigger outs of the a-149 is a neat add on....I should get that someday. The worst part of the a-149 is the depth though (and a-101-6).

Doepfer is pretty damn good (I have their LPG too with remote switching of modes). Everything sounds great. I'm glad I fixed my trogotronic case with new power supplies so I can use them.

@Osc. Yeah, I think they sound best in low frequencies, actually -- although the Morphing T has an incredible amount of tones in it beyond that, I tend to use it most for soothing low frequency drones, which makes sense I guess since it was designed with Robert Rich. But yeah, you can get very low with them. I think the third position on the MT is actually just low freq shapes that are used to feed other oscillators and the like.

The Verbos is something of a standin, but mostly I realized I wanted another source of random output at a different/overlapping/synched tempo after pairing the system with the 0-Coast. Would like to be able to blend more Buchla-esque tone clusters with slower controlled swells and evolving textures, and this seems like the best module to do that (plus extra textures of noise!)

Yea I just bought A-149 from Sweetwater fuck it I had the money. Gonna be on the lookout for the expander as well. My case has enough for like 4" of depth so that shouldn't be too much of an issue for me.

Forgot the verbos has the noise outs.

Still want a harmonic osc and the multi-stage voltage.

It fits in my synthrotek where there isn't the bus board...just kinda annoying haha. It's dead simple and it just feels right in use. Been using it in almost every patch lately (I had been sticking with the sport mod...but this kinda made more sense at the moment....it had been in the trogotronic case forever and I kinda forgot about it haha.)

I've been in a very dire need of random modulation. I like the Wogglebug but didn't feel like spending another $100 extra. A lot of people on Muffs like the A-149 so I'm glad to have it now.

I prefer the A-149 to the wogglebug. Wogglebug is less controllable and wants to go fast (at least it always seems to me). Wogglebug is probably better as a sound source/lfo kinda thing but it is probably more deep overall if tamed.

A-149 just seems more musical. I think it's partially because it is dependent on a clock and you are setting a range of possibilities instead of the more wildly fluctuating voltages of the wogglebug (I got an old make noise on for $120....I don't care too much for it but it works for some stuff). I much prefer the noise ring if going wiard (which I think is more influenced by the SOU design....at least that's where Richter started supposedly...kind of like how Haible started with the Serge waveshaper and made something inspired by the description and came up with something different but useful in the same ways).

I went to Control in NYC today and my lust is strong. Three Sisters sounded so beautiful with multiple signals running into it. Rene is so playable. Optomix makes a dope kick drum. Mysteron sounds like  :omg:

Halp, the gas...

Rene is annoying. That's my conclusion after trying it out. Touchpads are finnicky and I could never get it going how I wanted.

I'm scared of touch pads but I really want a Verbos keypad and maybe get rid of my Sub 37 Tribute to fund it and some other modules since I never use it. I wish it was poly and had ARP.... I hear the Sputnik does but has a lot of issues?

This one seemed to respond to all of my touches with no problems. It was super fun. It seems like it requires really clean/properly grounded power in what I've read about the touch pads not working properly.

There are a ton of stories of humidity/dry air being an issue with touch pad sensitivity as well. Also the power issues are really annoying.

Re: Sputnik Keyboard
I'd read the muff thread on it, a lot of people seems to have varying degrees of success with that thing.

Yeah I did that, seems to be more consistency with the Verbos (at least the newer model) though no poly or arp.

Rene; it's finger lickin' good.

Edit: people who use Rene love it, I sometimes use a similar sequencer in Reaktor, and it is a fun way to work, so I'm not trying to knock it. But yeah I've heard if you live in the desert you might need to use something to keep your fingers damp enough.
I've been searchin' for the dolphins in the sea.
