the other guitarist plays a 25.5 scale guitar with a built-in Sadowsky bass preamp in it, tuned really low, through a hartke bass amp. On this record, particularly, he's playing more 'bassline' type parts than on the previous albums. so, basically, there's "bass" on the record in every sense BUT the instrument used to make the sounds.
