Novation Peak

Well, nearly old school. It features three New Oxford Oscillators for each voice which they say “sound completely analogue by being high-quality NCO’s (numerically controlled oscillators).” While at the same time they have 17 digital wavetables to play with. They can also be used as a Linear FM source. For each voice there’s a resonant multi-mode analogue filter and distortion points both pre and post-filter as well as globally. There’s a bunch of effects built in as well as an arpeggiator.

There’s a complete 16-slot modulation matrix and 16 direct assignments in the main controls. There are three ADSR envelopes and two LFO’s for each voice. On the front panel there are two “Animate” buttons which do some sort of instant patch transformation, which sounds very interesting.
Connections include a single CV modulation input, which is nice, and the usual MIDI and USB.
Judging by the images, leaked by a couple of music stores, it has the look of the Bass Station II. It also has a little screen, presumably for patch saving/loading and access to deeper functionality. On the whole it looks excellent and just the sort of thing Novation should be doing in the current hardware obsessed climate.

Hadn't really heard anything about this one / can't find too much out there aside from a pic or two and a TGP post. Seen any demos?

I don't think any audio has been shared, not even a tease on Instagram.

The second Novation product for Superbooth is a Circuit/Bass Station mashup.

Image
Circuit Mono Station is a next-generation sequenced monosynth that originates from the Bass Station II, with three sequencer tracks that benefit from the 32 velocity-sensitive RGB pads found on Circuit.

The synth has two oscillators, three distortion modes, plus one multi-mode filter with high-pass, low-pass or band-pass. With Circuit Mono Station, the sync and tuning parameters of its two oscillators can be individually controlled. It also offers four waveshapes (sawtooth, triangle, square and sample + hold), a sub-oscillator, ring modulation and noise generation. Users can get the frequency band they want by applying high-pass, low-pass and band-pass filters with slopes of 12dB and 24dB.

In addition, Circuit Mono Station introduces a powerful overdrive. Both monophonic and paraphonic modes are available, with each oscillator individually controlled by its own sequencer. There are three sequencer tracks: two oscillator sequencers and one modulation sequencer. Users can alter Gate length, switch patterns instantly, choose sync rate and mutate patterns.

A four-by-eight modulation matrix makes it possible to route from LFO with four waveshapes, envelope, sequencer or velocity, enabling complex modulation for pitch, pulse-width, amp, filter, distortion or CV. Up to 64 patches can be loaded and saved on the device, right at the user's fingertips. Circuit Mono Station controls separate hardware via CV, Gate and modulation outputs, and has MIDI In, Out and Thru, so other MIDI gear can be connected. Via USB, Circuit Mono Station can be plugged into Mac or PC, where unlimited patches can be managed using Components.

Fuck I want that Eloquencer, it's gonna be $700 preordering from him. Going to wait to see if this thing will end up in the US cause I don't have the money rn.

Nope, that's what I'm waiting on. It seems like Walrus (ironically) biting at the trail left by OBNE, but with 8 algos instead of 3. Also, I like the sound of the descend, not so much the size.

Shiiiiiiiit I've been waiting for this product for forever. A bit more expensive than I was hoping it to be, feel like it should be at $500 but oh well.

The Quandrantid Swarm is a versatile, unique instrument for sound designers and musicians looking to explore exquisite and unfamiliar timbres that range from subtle to outrageous, nebulous to shimmering. It is comprised of a digital synthesizer voice with a percussive element, 2 pole analog filter, 8 waveforms for modulation, and a spring reverb. The 8 touch keys can be used as a mono keyboard, polyphonic keyboard or an 8 step sequencer. The QS interfaces with other instruments via MIDI, and CV/Trig inputs.

RRP is currently 499€ (subject to change)

Is it weird I knew exactly what that drone machine was he sampled before he even turned it on?

Thing looks great. And sample change per beat in the sequencer could allow you to get you some crazy results.

Heh. I saw the shape and the layout and thought, "Hmm, it looks like we're going to get some digital tanpura action soon."

I don't know MaestroS specifically, but I remember poring over eBay years ago to look at all those Raagini machines. Never pulled the trigger, but I always wanted to feed one through a phaser and some delay.

I haven't posted about Zetaohm since the 2016 NAMM, but they're closing in on reaching their crowdfunding goal for their first module.
