So in a way, I'm already done...done with getting up and running I guess. All settled in. I can do plenty of whatever and I don't feel like there's anything I desperately need, just stuff that I like and stuff that I'm waiting for. It's all cherry picking and customization from here, basically.
Money is lined up and ready for Plonk, but I think it will still be a while, as it's not even up for preorder yet. Some other choices in the same range:
Frames
Lofi Junky
Muskrat + DPLR, they'd make a great pair
Save a little more and get the Qu-bit Mixology
Save even more and get some fucking ROSSUM
Take a break, buy a pedal or two...

I found Frames to be a little fussy to use it the way I wanted but honestly I gave up rather quick and flipped it. I have high hopes for Plonk, might replace my Rings with Plonk. I love Rings but would be more interested in more exciter types and resonance models. I don't use Rings for audio processing. I want/need a reverb, all the reverbs I really want are expensive, and I'm tight on room/out of room, would have to cut something and that makes me sad.

Shit, I still need reverb too...for that I'll likely start with a Pico DSP, then get a bigboy reverb module later on, possibly the Audio Damage one that's in the works, or the Erbe-verb, maybe even the Mungo.

Looks like Vintage King has them? $580

There's also one on sale on Muffwiggler for $415 (but aux B doesn't work on it and it's overseas)

You can find Metropolis on Muffs for usually $500. I just bought one on Muffs last week for $450 so keep on looking, it'll show up.

An output module is very recommended because modular volumes are all over the place, and can get very hot very quickly. Luckily most output modules are very cheap. Pittsburgh Modular's is only like $80-100 new.
