i helped promote a bunch of people and recently they've been underwhelming in their performance.

one quit. rumor has it he failed his drug test at his new job and isn't being hired there. burned every bridge on his way out of the job with me as his direct supervisor.
another guy got fired because aforementioned employee helped him do some slightly nefarious (mostly harmless but stupid) things.
two guys are joining the ranks of fatherhood in the next couple of weeks and will be taking time off. went from 16-guys to 12-guys really quickly. between vacation, sickness and scheduled wisdom teeth surgery for another employee i'm wondering how we're getting through our day-to-day.

on top of that another manager is leaving and two more are going on new parent leave. feel like i'm running this joint by myself.

further compounding that: we're moving into a new space in the near future and everything feels like a clusterfucking nightmare.

Youre right, though. If you want the dollars, the price is the price, so set it amd be clear.

Doesn't stop the low ball hacks, sadly.

I have to place a bid, in order to start negotiating. It's not like ebay auctions. Also if someone has just made up a price, and I make an offer with a more realistic price, it's not lowballing.

So I called up the seller who wasn't replying - turns out he had already sold the item, but we talked for 45mins and the dude has apparently done stuff for Waldorf among others. Now we're friends. It's cool.

Threw my back out, now hobbling around like an old motherfucker. Is this my first real geezer experience? Maybe.

Also have to do my taxes tomorrow, so I've got those oodles of fun mingling with whatever the fuck is happening in my spinal region.

Makes me feel like my talent selection needs way more work. Coupled with the fact that I'm about to make three more promotions... sucks.

I have a piece of dead tissue permanently floating around in my eye that shows up to say "hi" several times a day.

So, storms give me anxiety and storms at night give me bad anxiety, storms that have produced tornadoes at some point in the day give me really bad anxiety and two lines of storms coming across the region, both of which have produced severe weather and tornadoes gives me absolutely crippling anxiety. :erm:

Yeah the midwesternness is severe tonight. Sounds like someone rattling miles of aluminum sheeting outside.

And IP: we should send STRAYANS when we finally get to do some extraterrestrial exploration. Unflappable.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
