I got a Hoof in the mail today. I'm not sure I like it. Its personality is a little generic (although I think I'm expecting too much from my baseline fuzz). I actually prefer the Cloven Hoof, which has a more pronounced, if not entirely pleasing, personality. I'll try it out with the band, but I imagine it'll end up getting traded for a non-Muff. I try to do as much as I can on the my Fuzzolo, but it doesn't stack that well, so it has limitations.

I think the Basic Audio Alter-destiny fits the bill pretty well. It has enough EQ to move it out of Strictly Muff territory.

I'm torn between the Frantone Cream Puff and the Peach Fuzz.

Eau Claire Thunder or the Standard Supercollider. I really enjoyed a stock Black russian Muff as well for its character as well.

I am definitely want to try an ect or baby thunder, but I really can't bring myself to shell out that much for a dirt pedal. I feel like $100 used after shipping is my limit for dirty unless it has something really really really cool going on

The musket is a good mention I really like the pedal, but definitely felt like it could've done well with just 4 knobs. I have owned three, and I dont know why I kept selling them when I liked them so much. I guess back then I didnt see the point in having a couple dirt pedals around just in case.

GNOMERATRON VTF ALL DAY.

Been absolutely LOVING my Mini post-Pretty Years. PY>muff gives the best kind of compressed explosiveness and with a Gnome it is just perfect.

Eau Claire Thunder is a mighty, mighty, mighty beast also, that would be my second choice.

I use all the knobs on the musket? I guess the focus is subtle enough to be a switch really, because it's only in the lowest and the highest points that you hear a difference. Preamp knob makes a load of difference and midrange is essential to liking the sound. Don't know what y'all are talking about

So I've been using a Hoof for the last year or so, and while I like the EQ enough, I find the gain to be a little whimpy. I know it's basically a green russian, but is there a comparable 4-knobber NYCRI? Would the Mojo Hand Colossus do the trick?
