The pickups are out of a Meazzi Hollywood hollowbody from the 60s that I picked up a couple months ago. The neck twisted and the body is delaminating, but these pickups sounded great in that guitar, so I wanted to give them a better guitar to hang out in. They're basically p90s (in super-hip parallelogram covers) with a blade instead of individual poles and they don't have a baseplate, so we'll see how they sound here.
I'm also kind of digging that sans pickguard look. Something about the exposed routes gives me tingly in the pants feelings. But I have a sheet of pickguard material coming in the mail, so I'll probably make a new pickguard if I end up liking these.
