He runs it to boost a Laney in his hardcover band. Sounds cool and his tone is killer but I've never got to play with it before. Supposedly a low gain od with no tone but a presence knob instead. Sounds like it has potential to stack with other stuff pretty well.
you talking about the thunderclaw? I've tried that, and its more distortion than OD...sounds great though.
Nah, it was a super limited run a while back I think. I had never heard of it until he showed it to me at practice a few months ago. i messed around with it this morning and I like it a lot. it is one of the few pedals that no matter where you set the knobs it all sounds good. I'm covering the same ground with my Witchburner so I doubt it'll stay on my board but I may be able to find a use for it.
http://www.mrblackpedals.com/products/black-ltd-overdriver Stacks great with some fuzz and sounds great when boosting the high gain channel on the JMP. I was nailing some old Slayer riffs with it this morning. Shoulda recorded some clips.
Speaking of which, I don't know if I mentioned on here about how while adding another bedroom to the house to make room for baby we converted my patio into a sound proof practice space. I just got my computer moved in and now I can really start doing more demos of stuff. We're practicing later today so I have two overhead condensers set up to record our ideas. I think this will make us a lot more productive since the band is spread out so far.
