Re: Your YEAR in GEAR! :)* 2016
Not been a bad gear year for me;
-EQD Disaster Transport
-Sovtek V7D Big Muff
-BAT Black Forest
-Catalinbread SFT
-EHX Pitchfork
-Fender Standard Jaguar Bass
-Trace Elliot 300W Stereo Power Amp
-Marshall 2x15 Bass Cab
The only ones out of these that aren't getting constant use are the Sovtek, because i'm in the process of making it tour-proof, and the Disaster Transport which I've just sold because it turns out I'm more of a reverb guy than a delay guy

Re: Your YEAR in GEAR! :)* 2016
I'll just list my favs.
DigiTech Timebender - This is my second one. On top of the ridiculous amount of features, the delays sound as good as anything out there.
DigiTech Space Station - Good shit. Enjoying the sounds while I can b4 DigiTech puts out some sort of reissue and the stripper's crotch facial hair P&W crowd vanilla the shit out of it with their brown instagram shoes. #ambient #weird #soupysounds4jesus
Dr. Scientist BitQuest - Great little multi-tool. Useful anywhere in the chain for almost any situation and sounds rad doing it.
Fairfield Accountant + Barbershop - Simple comp and OD with actual character.
Fuzzhugger Suneater - Probably my favorite of the lot. Love this thing sooo much. Sounds as good as it looks.
Fuzzhugger Doom Bloom - 2nd fav fuzz of the lot. Sounds as badarse as it looks.
Keeley 30ms - Inspired by Robin Guthrie, I also picked up a DC-2 (which came with a free DC-3 and HF-2
) this year. I like the 30ms way more. The Dimension mode is just as good and is much more usable than the DC-2 due to offering more control and it doesn't clip to hell and back.
Keeley Loomer - The dirt side has my favorite muff ever. It's like a triangle muff crossed with an HM-2's chainsaw grind.
MASF Possessed & Raptio - U know dis.
Count to 5 - U know dis too. Mode 2 is my jam.
Future/2017:
Custom Fuzzhuggers. Algal + Doom Bloom combo. Suneater oscillator. Possibly a Lab Ratchet/Arc Flash if still available. And hopefully a Sonic Shroom in an AB-Synth skin if Tom will kindly swing it.
Fairfield Shallow Water
Limbo III
Mooer Ocean Machine since I'm an unabashed DT fanboy.

Re: Your YEAR in GEAR! :)* 2016
I stopped the list because I realized as I was adding things, that I was going to slowly get worse as it went along. LOL!!! Maybe if I set a goal of only owning those pedals, it can stop. The cycle can end!!! The endless cycle of spending...most likely not though.chrisdermo wrote:I hear that. Seeing how much I bought and flipped made me wanna curl up into a ball and die. I only had a handful of pedals in 2015. I bought 45 this year, and a new guitar. No wonder I'm constantly skint. But yeah, doing this showed me the pedals I like are synths, pitch shifters and filters, and that I don't particularly care for multiples of mod fx or verbs or delays.....jwar wrote:I honestly didn't know how bad it had been this year until I started writing it down and looking through my records. Next year, I'm seriously changing the way I do shit. I've tried so much that I now know what kind of stuff I dig, so unless someone invents something new, I at least know the types of effects that I like spending money on.![]()
Thought you were gunning for an MWFX Glitch too?jwar wrote: My only planned purchases for 2017 currently are-
Earthquaker Devices Avalanche Run (miss mine and I used it a lot, so much regret)
Providence Brick Drive
a drum machine of some kind
a few Mountainking pedals
Pretty Years (fuck me for selling mine)
and an maybe a few things from Industrialectric

I traded a Toronado for a 2x12 Sovtek cab.

here's everything i kept and isn't disposable that i got this year:
one of justin smith from ghosti's old ltd vipers, a couple minis, an original musicman sub, some more ampegs, and a les paul traditional. oh i also built up a drum kit with an old pacific kit, new pdp hardware, dw 5000 kick, and zildjian cymbals that i've yet to have any time playing on.

Bought and kept:
- 80 Tape Tremolo
- Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl
- Dr Scientist RRR
- New CT5 (flipped old one to fund)
- Korg Minilogue
Bought and Flipped
- OBNE Reflector (which I traded for.....)
- OBNE Dark Star
potentially bought a couple others that I then sold
goals for next year:
- keep selling pedals to consolidate a core board with only a couple of pedals to keep as alternates
- get a nicer amp///fix my classic 30
- play out more
- sell baritone
- get a nice bass rather than 2 shittier ones
- think less about gear
