It's kinda funny... Chankgeez and I talked about doing this about a year ago and I didn't think anyone would be interested.

Good to see it moving along. Seems like a blast. Looking forward to hearing some results if you all share.

Really? Well you probably have enough guitarists already anyway, so I'll bow out. Have fun, guys.

ok so this evening (well morning for me) i put down a short track more like an intro track, very rough but it should give people chance to play and maybe figure out a good path. I ripped it to WAV from Reaper and included the reaper project files etc its in the Scrapyard area called "Beginning of things to come". Im guessing we could use this little bit as a building block for how the process may work, in reaper i locked down the tracks and grouped them so if you do open it up in there then remember that, there is also some silence at the beginning.

Rhythm Track
Lead - Simple
Bass - Simple

Tuning is half step down from standard so Eb

Now im very new to all this so if you are not using reaper then the raw WAV files are in there but they have all my noodling etc at the start end and stuff,

If you find a drum thing you like, build on it. If you have a guitar bit you like, build on it. That kind of thing.

BTW, here's a list of people currently on there. just so that you can share things with individuals if you don't want to share it with the whole group:

Does it matter that I'm really hating my bass tone right now? LOL!!

I can't wait to set something up. Luckily I have a Darkglass B7K coming and I won't need to lug my amp upstairs. I can go straight from my B7 to the interface! YES Technology!!

Don't see why not.

On the structure thing maybe there's room for both ways of working.. I can see both working well for certain sorts of music.

Which doesn't rule out Funky Reggae.

Thanks, monkeydancer, I appreciate the vote of confidence. :thumb: But I didn't stop to consider that some people might not be comfortable sharing a work in progress with someone who is still a stranger, so I'll wait a while for a future collaboration.

Looking forward to hearing what comes out of this.

Man if you can play an instrument or sing, it doesn't matter how long you've been a forum member. LOL. I could give a fuck less! I doubt anyone else does.
