It was also a bit bland for me and I couldn't get along with the predelay, but the Meteore was still pleasant enough for the type of mood it was going for. Ironically, I think your "like a fog-covered civil war battlefield in the early morning" description matched it perfectly.

A+/Shiftline just came out with the Spring Junior, which could do the job. I think it's FV-1 based:

Haven't tried it, though. However, I did like and was using their Astronaut reverb pedal before I switched back to using a rack unit for my reverb.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet, these are also excellent for clean drums. The vactrol decay is just right with triggers, so just noise and triggers in yields perfectly plucked drums out, no envelope or filter needed. Of course, I do like to send them into my oscillating fuzzes sometimes.
I also use triggers on them for rhythmic grains like in the first stage of Clouds, or sequenced gates from Pressure Points for larger slices like cymbals, laser zaps etc.

In this clip I'm using Pressure Points' gates to let slices of boosted ipod audio through the DPLPG and on to the Demora & Rainmaker. The other sound is the Karp into the Rainmaker's other channel.

nice job! i have a good time using the dplpg with ifm modules. for instance using ramp out of Dunst as cv with one of Fourses oscillators into the dplpg gives a world of awesome percussive sounds, then using another of Fourses outs to FM Dust and sending the dplpg OUT to modulate another of the Fourses oscillators things start getting really interesting. Been fun patching a web between my three Fourses and two dplpg. I'm been spending alot of time with my quasi euro version of the original CL Fourses instrument which consists of 2 Fourses and the four s/h Intersexon....I'm just using four different s/h modules for this. Each oscillator from one Fourses feeds into a s/h that's triggered by an oscillator from the second Fourses. The output from the s/h modulates another Fourses oscillator or etc. Been a blast figuring out different ways to route the signals, adding the dplpg'd to the equation ups the fun.
