Hey buds. Let's say you have a tailpiece that's a little crooked, a pick guard that doesn't sit flush, tuners to swap with a mounting screw mismatch, etc. etc. etc.
What are your techniques for plugging the holes before you redrill? Toothpicks? Matchsticks? Dowel rods? Chopsticks? Do you also use wood glue? Titebond? Sawdust and glue?
I have a crooked tailpiece and a non-flush pick guard that I want to reset here....

Re: Fill & Redrill Question
All of the above plus sawdust mixed with epoxy, depends on the hole, the finish, if I need to drill into the side of the dowel or the middle, every thing is based on the situation. or.. like that burnt 12.. that was not meant to be.. I bought that kit for the neck.. nothing in the entire kit was straight and the parts only fit together in their lopsided "awesomeness"

I'm no expert, but I've used maple dowels, glued them in. Rough cut them, then sanded them flat.

Yeah, I think toothpicks and wood glue should do the trick.

Re: Fill & Redrill Question
Just had to do this for a neck pocket, which is a much bigger hole so a lot easier, but I did as mentioned above: maple dowels. Drill some holes out, glue some maple in, let it cure for a day, carry on.
