New Tele MIJ Keefcaster

Postby deeohgee » Mon Oct 17, 2016 5:50 am

Scored a 1993 Fender Japan TL52-80 SPL Telecaster 52 Reissue - ash body, neck humbucker. A sweet tele that Keefs, jazzes, funks & rocks. So many great tones and a blast to play, lovely cleans & it loves dirt too! Traded it for my old Guyatone hollow body, luckily no trader's remorse.

Dope! That's a spot on, nice looking blonde; they've managed to screw that up on newer models (too brown/orangey). You'll enjoy that thing for sure!

That is a rad tele. The blonde does look very nice, not too yellow. I'd hit it fo sho. Dig the top load bridge but I can't look at a top loader and not think B5....MUstang Bridge....B5.....Mustang Bridge.

I took a peek under the pickguard and it has faded a little from the original finish, about 3 degrees less yellow.
A Bigsby is a cool idea but I'm not much of a Wanger! :yay:

I wouldn't futz with that tele. It is boss as is. That blue one is just a janky partscaster from a few years ago. How are the stock pickups?

The pickups are great. Humbucker is fat & articulate and with the vol down to 6 sounds like a single coil. Bridge is spanky but not harsh. Middle position is fantastic. All positions love dirt too!

Great guitar! Top loader tele's are the best! That's the same bridge as my 80s Buckleycaster. Had no idea they put em on the Japan models.

That blue partscaster tele is fucking sexy too.
