My preferred Clusterfuzz settings are a smooth, muff-like lead tone with S2 clipping (depicted above) and various, gnarly psych/gaze fuzz tones possible with other clipping modes. The Clusterfuzz seems to excel in producing the two, aforementioned types of tones, but I have yet to stumble upon a more traditional doom fuzz tone. I came close with S1 clipping, though there was always a bit too much "hair" and "snarl" with the filter disengaged and the gain and higher settings.

I didn't realize there was an octave setting. Please elaborate.

David Torn's settings for it:ck3 wrote:I didn't realize there was an octave setting. Please elaborate.

His & culturejam's notes on it:
- neck pickup, guitar tone rolled back, max out Fuzz and 8-Bit, play high up on the neck.
- input filter engaged!
- LED diode-clipping mode
- hit open "g" string @ guitar's full volume, sustaining the note: then slowly lower the guitar's volume control until you hear the octave below.

BUTT SHOT.
I was pretty proud of my NIN co-opt, had to share with all y'all fuzz lovers.
Fun fact #1: I was never an Ampeg guy until I stumbled into this SVT rig, which was practically given to me.
Fun fact #2: I was also never a Muff guy until I fell in love with the name DOPE PRIEST (and took a gamble).

I am in love with this echo bender circuit. I was kinda disappointed by the echo degrader and this is like what I wanted it to be and more
. The only problem is now I have to make another. I kinda just made it for fun, not thinking I would like it so much. So I put it in a giant enclosure. I need to make a more pedalboard friendly one now

Care to discuss the similarities and differences with the echo degrader?dminner wrote:I am in love with this echo bender circuit. Re: Setup of the day thread?
It is the most lofi-ist lofi delay I have ever played. Some of what it can do seems really similar to the echo degrader so I have a hunch he pulled some ideas from the bender, but I am not sure about that. But that is the most comparable delay I have played. The bender probably has fewer reasonable delay settings than the degrader, but is crazy versatile. It can still get the super longer, super dirty delays, etc. But it is really good at creating background noise that can be played over, hell, it can be used as a distortion pedal. A long delay time coupled with a high feedback goes on and on and on, almost like a small sample, that can be altered with the delay time afterwards. IDK, I ever bonded with the degrader and maybe I never gave it a solid chance, but I wanted a delay that could do super lofi stuff and instantly connected with this. It has been a long time since I just got lost for like 3hrs with a single pedal, exploring what it could do. I am in the process of building a smaller pedalboard friendly one now, which will be done soon, if ya want to experience what the bender can do, I can send you the big one to play with for a weekPeteeBee wrote:Care to discuss the similarities and differences with the echo degrader?dminner wrote:I am in love with this echo bender circuit. Re: Setup of the day thread?
Thanks Chank. I gave the settings a go late last week thinking there would be an octave up effect and then reread your post.Chankgeez wrote:David Torn's settings for it:ck3 wrote:I didn't realize there was an octave setting. Please elaborate.

Re: Setup of the day thread?
You're welcome. It does do some faint octave up with similar settings. You just don't really have to fiddle with your guitar volume to get it. It's a little easier to achieve than the octave down thing. The octave down takes a litle bit to get the hang of.
… and from that other thread, don't get me wrong, The Clusterfuzz is a great & versatile fuzz, it's just not as rude and/or fuzzy of some of the other fuzzes I usually like to play with.
