UglyCasanova wrote:Maybe we can just start a wishlist thread. Or, maybe wishlist is the wrong word. But at least a thread where we can talk about DOS and DON'TS. Like, "I have 35 tremolos, so maybe surpise me with something else", or "don't send alchohol because my state/country doesn't allow it" or "my significant other dies if they sense a non-transparent overdrive in their immediate proximity". That sort of thing. I think we did that last year...
I was thinking of waiting until some time in October. No sense in posting wishlists so early when we're all going to buy the stuff we want before then anyway. Also, it'll concentrate the excitement if the wishlisting is happening once the recipients are assigned.

Yeah, when it comes to music gear, it's most fun if the Santa can get a good sense of things from stalking.
I mostly like the discussion in the wishlist threads about non-gear stuff. Everyone's favorite weirdo candy or local beer or whatever.

If anyone puts a Wishlist thread up i will YouTube bomb it like old school spaceritual-tempting-the-banhammer style.

Dudes.

We have months upon months to stalk each other.
If you can't get an indication of what your santee wants in that time you may have to give up the Internet.

Something more palatable, perhaps, would be a "shit we already have" thread, but I think most of us post in gear anyway?

This was why I said "wishlist might not be the right word". It's not a wishlist where you say what you want because that would be lame. Again, as I said "it's more of a DOs and DONTs list...

All I wanted to write there was "no meat or gelatine-based treats, plz", because I generally don't talk about what sort of food I eat.

So, there you have it, future stalker. No need for a 'wishlist'. :p

Yeah. There should be a few "thanks but no thanks" suggestions. For example, I'm a voracious reader of food labels and avoid a majority of chemical additives. If it reads like a list of materials in a chemistry lab then I'm not interested in eating it. Thanks but no thanks :hobbes:

That's not something my draw may pick up on because I rarely discuss it.
Constantly going on about your diet is obnoxious (looking at you moral vegans and the I ONLY EAT WHAT I HUNT crowd) :snax:

I think UC has the right idea with more of a dos and don'ts list than a wishlist. Things like shirt size, food allergies, etc. can definitely be good info to have.

A wishlist thread doesn't bother me because they are usually pretty vague. Plus it helps some of the newbies. I personally don't like stalking people's post on here because the search functions on this site do not work well. I have to refresh the page 80 times before I can even view results.

Plus, I'm not going to send you what you really wish for anyway. :)

Wishlist thread is great for people who spend less time on this site and for less stalkable people. Plus, like jwar said, most people keep it vague. Like I could use some modulation and already have too much fuzz.

ProCarsteNation is a cool dude, imo
