i reckon it was the guy who usually scores the show. i think hes kind of hit and miss, more hit than miss, but yeah music in the finale was great.

the red woman music is awful. that stupid 4 note little synth line is so grade school.

but of course the theme is great, like i said, more hit than miss imo.

I'm two episodes in. I'm impressed with the streamlining and changes they have made so far.

Yeah, episode 2 diverges pretty heavily from the books but I am fine with the changes. Books 4 & 5, (which this season is based on) are problematic if you are trying to keep things moving and exciting. I really don't think it's spoiling anything to say that In the books:

Jamie wanders the Riverlands, has internal monologue/struggle
Brieanne wanders the Riverlands, has internal monologue/struggle
John Snow has internal monologue/struggle about the Nightswatch and the Wildlings
Tyrion wanders Essos, has internal monologue/struggle
Arya trains in the House of B & W
Sansa learns from Littlefinger
Dany learns how to rule
Theon becomes Reek
90% of the Donre plot is a chess match between the Sand Snakes and Oberyn's brother

Aside from King's Landing, there really isn't much to flesh out for the series without some serious streamlining and straight up changes.

I'm looking forward to the Jamie/Bronn and Varys/Tyrion road shows.

100% agreed. I found the great majority of those two books to be an insufferable slog and was just glad to be done with them when I finished. This is a season where I will be totally fine with them going WAYYYYYYYY off-book.

Yep. They can (and should) cut out a lot of the tedious bits of development that drag on and on. I really like the idea that they have made the pairings that weren't in the show - makes it more entertaining. At this rate they will have burned through all of the material from the books by the end of the season
