The sniper action is pretty sweet, and not too easy if you stay out of VATS.
I found the assassin's rifle the other day, gives an extra 50% damage towards humans. THAT is some hitman shit.

That's a danger in any Fallout game: exploring can derail the story.

hell I prefer exploring fuck the story. so far I haven't had anything that broke because I went through and did shit before the quest. usually I've came across the quest later and I just have the option to go 'oh well yea I did that already' and then immediately the xp and caps for it.

I don't mind that other people are hating it cause well I've never cared what other people do or enjoy it doesn't change my enjoyment.

I'm not huge on crafting. I don't care about modding guns or armor though I've done a little. Building is alright, I wish there was more shit to mess with in that which I think more will come in downloads and I think there will be a mod editor for ps4 one of my friends was telling me about. so that will vastly open it up to do more awesome shit.

I loved FO3 on ps3 but on PC with all the mods is fucking amazing. though with those mods I've broke some quests and caravans I normally come across are all dead because of the creatures are harder to kill and more plentiful so they get swamped. even with brotherhood of steel body guards.

hell in FO3 that quest THEM... I can't end it because the idiot kid billy was killed by an ant, so I can't go tell him about his father so it's always open. Not that it matters I just go and murder stuff.

it's WAY more damaging if you do it w/o vats. vats is only good for finding things.

I gotta say that after months of playing this game...

If it kept you entertained for months.

It did and it didn't. I keep playing because it's Fallout. But it's really not that good of a game. I'm very disappointed by it but I enjoy shooting shit.

I do have the new Assassins Creed sitting here that I may play. Those games are the shit.

I just expected more than what I'm getting. Also for fucks sake. Why can I never find the ammo I need? I upgrade my scavenger shit all the way because I thought it would help. NOPE. Just the shitty ammo I don't want to use.

I do plan to but I'm actually so ate up and having fun exploring, killing things I haven't really gave it much thought. I basically get some awesome shit, and change out parts. I haven't put any points into gun nut or anything for armor but I can do so much damage and have so much aid stuff just from scavenging... I don't get overwhelmed by anything.

And I know a ton of people say how they can't seem to find enough ammo for stuff. hell i have around 2-3k of every type just from scavenging and killing shit.

I've put in over 100 hours and still haven't bothered with much of the main quest. Although I found all the different factions and did some shit for them until it was stupid repeated quests. Switched around all the companions and their quests, got every weapon modded to my liking. I'm pretty much using the six-crank musket for the first shot, and then firing away with my 4000+ rounds of 45. at the rest of them. I fucking love the combat rifle. I've got the Overseer's Guardian in 308. with a long barrel (it's pretty much my M1 at this point, even named it MACHINE KILLS THIS after my favorite gun from New Vegas), and my 45. with an automatic receiver, short barrel, and long clip. It's kinda like a sub machine gun that blows the stupid Tommy gun out of the water.

My armor if the ballistic weave baseball uniform with some fully modified combat armor on top. Kinda looks like the warriors or some shit. I have so many power armor suits, including the Mk. V X-01 armor, but I never wear them as the game feels claustrophobic with them on.

But best quest? Dunwich Borers. Fuckin hell the goddamn gouls kept coming and getting stronger and stronger, I kept trying to sneak but the bastards just attack from all sides out of nowhere. Creepy as shit to say the least. Also sweet ass Kremvh's Tooth lying at the bottom.

I've been levelling up my crafting perks to make rad shit, too. Is fun.

Vault 81. You have to buy it, but it's very worth it. Also get your rifle man perk up too. One shot is 180 damage with everything at full.

I pretty much alternated leveling up crafting and the gun perks after I got all the little stuff out if the way (strong back, computer terminals, locks etc). Makes one shot kills on legendarys really easy. The six crank musket shot at 68 dmg comes out to 408 dmg. One shot. Fuckers annihilated. But yeah getting all the little things just perfect on your gun makes you not care about picking up everything. Except legendary drops that come with different perks, I'll mod those up with the same specs as my regular perfect gun.

I haven't done any building at all. I know I'll likely need electricity, industry etc. later but I've heard that settlements never get attacked anyway.

I did the rounds of my settlements last night to do some planting and scavenging to make adhesives and get more steel for weapons and power armour mods.
Every single one I visited had an attack upon my arrival.

The upshot is I now have a fucking rad custom silenced auto 10mm (I named it Rowdy) and some other cool shit.
Upgrading my original T45 suit to E status, scored another nearly complete T45, a combat shotgun....heaps of mad gear.
