ok, why the fuck do I not have a 12 string build going on here. Jesus! That fucking BARI!
I have to do laundry now. :erm:

An alum necked 12 with a strat style trem, like the SG I built only made to this standard

These are seriously amazing guitars, well done all around!

I'd love to play one of these one day. Just to know how that neck feels.

^ Yeah, I'm intrigued as to how it will feel, too. I'll give you a report, using my full powers of… describing things with words and stuff. I can promise it will not include unhelpful references to butter or non-dairy spreads. I mean, seriously, if your guitar feels like a stick of butter you're doing something wrong.

Mine:

Have to say it's even prettier in real life than I thought it would be. Photos really don't do it justice.
Weighs about the same as my Jazzmaster, I think, but the feel is different (because of the aluminium). Really good balance, hangs perfectly. Neck felt completely unfamiliar at first but the initial shock passed very quickly and it feels more and more 'normal' the more I play.
Overall first impression: :!!!: Will give a proper report when I've been able to run it hard through a few different amps.

Yeah, I stole the strap from my Jazzmaster but it might have to stay stolen. :thumb:

Alright, time for some very quick clips.
So I got an hour or so to fire up my little practice amp today when my wife took the kids and my in-laws out this afternoon (bless her) and made these clips to try to capture the sounds of this guitar. Pickups are wonderful, great clean, great with fuzz. Lots of range and fun to be had.
Three clips, all recorded straight into an iPad condenser mic in my living room - nothing fancy but fairly accurate. Guitar into Vox AC4TV amp. Second clip is an old Eddie Ray song. Starts clean then adds a little amp warmth and finally a Jerms Rat and a Castledine wah at the end. Dig the metallic klang/overtones ringing out in the last one. I've never played a guitar that can sound like that before. That's probably because I've never played an aluminium guitar before.

And there are now a heap of photos up on the Harvester site, all lovely: http://www.harvesterguitars.com/completed/42/

I'll try to do some proper clips but I might not get a chance for a few weeks, and I'll also give a proper report on the guitar when we've spent some more quality time together.
Phantasmagorovich - I can tell you that when I first picked up the guitar the neck felt so weird to me that I had a moment of panic, thinking I'd never be able to play something so unfamiliar. But five minutes later I was fine. The compound radius of the neck and fretboard is kind of odd and there are spaces where you're just not used to finding spaces on a guitar neck. But then your mind and your fingers start to feel what is there, not what's missing - the back of the neck, the edges of the fretboard, everything you need to make the sounds you want to make. Now, two days later, I don't feel like I'm adjusting to the neck at all; I just really enjoy playing it and love the way the combination of the wood and metal feels.
