Los Lobos! I've actually hung out with David Hidalgo a few times. Pretty chill dude, amazing guitarist.
I was supposed to go to a Quinceañera with a second cousin of theirs that i worked with at the time (or something, don't remember, it was like 12 years ago) where they were going to play or something like that. It was some kind of weird plumber/construction/punk rock connection and I think my friend just wanted to show me his record collection. I think his company transferred him right before or something so it all fell through.

potato quality picture, but the left one is a wood/copper firebird i did awhile ago. center is wood salvaged from old church doors, wings are copper sheeting (from scrap roof flashing) over pine bracing. neck was a tele neck that i re-did the headstock shape on, single jazzmaster pickup, volume, on/off toggle, and a behind the bridge pickup that i never got to work right.

right one was an epiphone g400 SG. refinished with newspaper clippings from the 1940's and 50's, blocked up the neck pickup and stoptail holes, added a bigsby and a single EF Elliot mosrite pickup. also shaved down the sides of the headstock. also wired with volume and on/off, plus a tone switch

I can't remember if I've posted this already or not. I upholstered this project bass (and headstock) with an old sweater that had some holes in it and I smashed a record with a screwdriver until it fit the shape I wanted for the pickguard. I just have to secure the pickups and fix the wiring (soldering iron is still missing from the last move :( ) and the sweaterbass should be ready for action.

I'm doing a refin on my vi. Original Color was white so I roughed up the factory finish and painted over it. Still in process of painting but should start the clear coat this afternoon

Then I'm thinking passive volume and sho clone for the knobs and controls. The vi is just a shade too clean and too quiet.
