How do they stack up against monotrons?

Never heard of those. Just looked it up. They look sorta fun but i have apps on my phone that sound better than that and about as easy to play. I like the stylus, vibrato and slide options with the stylophone and actually think it sounds pretty good and will sound really cool going through a bunch of mod pedals, delay and verb.... hell even dirt.

Stylophone has a sound all it's own
monotron is cool but it can be replaced with apps in some regards

the stylophone and beatbox are awesome though
kinda killed my last one when I put it on my daughter's halloween costume the year she was a synth
weather was not great for trick or treating and it was never the same
probably need another

If you've got some 1/8ths cables (like the kind that come from a patchulator, for instance) you can do something like External sound source (say an Ipod or a tape recorder) > Gakken > 1/8 line level input of your choice and get some really interesting stuff that way, particularly if you have, say, a loop that could do with some super fun lo-fidelitizing.

Right now I have mine set to say "Wow!", though. It's like my version of the Staples easy button.

yeah those are some of my lower watters that i've been using at the house. the matamp is sitting on a 1x12 emperor. there is a closed back 2x12 atlas with a 2x12 open back verellen guitar cabs. then the orange obc115 and tyrant tone 4x10 bass/bass VI/baritone cabs. theres a vox ac15, sunn t50c, ampeg gemini I and two fender blues deluxe behind that. an ampeg gvt15h and orange or15 on top of the verellen. a traynor yba-1a on the bass stack. got a blackface champ, and marshall class 5 down there too, with three or four silvertone amp in case 5 watters, a pignose uh, a roland kc550...think thats all at the house
