still love seasons 1-6 a lot and the first movie

Second episode was even better.

Seems like maybe they were a little stiff filming the first one. Getting back into the groove. This episode felt like an old X files episode. It felt like one I would have watched as a kid.

Next week is a monster of the week episode likely for the throwback/nostalgia factor, but I love that shit. They got me just like star wars got me.

I kind of miss the creepier vibe of the original. The lighting in the original episodes was darker too. Over all not bad so far. I love the monster episodes of the first so I am psyched for next week.

X Files is doing good. Wasn't sure if I was going to like it. They both look a bit older. Skinner still looks the same.

^ Yeah, I really like Joel McHale as a standup and watched "The Soup" religiously before E cancelled it, but unfortunately he's not a very good actor and it always feels like, "Oh, it's Joel McHale" rather than whatever character he's supposed to be playing. And "Community" definitely has its moments…

Okay I have not watched this season but re: "Joel McHale sucks," he most certainly does not suck in Community. He's fucking perfect in Community.

one totally minor thing pissing me off is that the text fonts look really jarring and bad in HD. i'd be curious to rewatch the old seasons in HD but i can't help but feel the old makeup/SFX/costumes with the creepy shit would just look weird.
i dunno. i prefer DVD quality tbh... Blu-ray looks too real, weirds me out.

This was quite a controversy, actually. The company that did the remaster couldn't find the original fonts. Even though fans knew the exact fonts and there were literally open source versions available online. So they used "similar" fonts. Talk about a facepalm.

The font used for the words "THE X FILES" in the show's official, iconic logo - Industria - has been replaced, because the remastering company didn't know what font it was. They also added an ugly black outline to it.
