I thought that was odd too. I don't remember a white one. But my main experience is drooling over Aidan Baker's pedalboard.

this is also why my gas for a Model T bit the dust when I fully realized that.

Same. Even at blistering volumes I couldn't get enough overdrive out my my 1st gen Model-T. That's when I went V-4/Hellhawk.

That's silver, not white. I had an E1 Headrush back in the day.

That's crazy, my first gen model T is dirty as fuck in almost all settings. I crank the mids, bass stays low like at 3/4, treble and presence up, and plug into the "both" input. Master volume at about 65% and the regular volumes at around 5 for the bright and 4 for the normal. And a rat pushing it. Sounds killer. But I don't get how people say it's a clean platform =| I feel like it's dirty at almost all volumes unless it's super quiet. I think that's why pedals sound so good through these amps, because they are slightly dirty just naturally. Also why I didn't like pedals through the older sunn amps (2000s/200s) as much, because they were too clean. Also why I'm not a huge fan of fenders. Anyways, yeah, rat to a model t is awesome.

But you are using a rat pushing it. We are talking minus all pedals.

The T has a certain edge to it I think. Has something to do with the amp being made to be super fucking articulate even when playing weird chords and such. Wasnt the Model T developed by using Jazz players as the feedback?

I am. I was talking about the direct signal though. It's never clean clean unless it's lower volumes. Mine is usually always a bit dirty or broken up. Not entirely, I mean, I wouldn't play a show with the gain on tap because it's not enough. I'm just saying, I don't find it to be a clean pedal platform. At least not anywhere like a Sound City/Hiwatt or Fender circuit. But, I also play really loud. And maybe if I ran it as a full stack it might clean up a bit while giving me enough volume. But yeah, I just don't find it to be clean. That's why I think pedals sound good trough it, because in my opinion pedals sound better through a slightly dirty amp. Especially a rat.

Oh wait, I just remembered. I was using a 400 watt 4x12 cab with 100 watt Celestions from the late 80s. They were like V30s on steroids, super, super sensitive. That explains my experience. Once I switched it over to a 300 watt 4x12 with the standard 75 watt Celestions which are less sensitive than 100 watt celestions i got more overdrive, but it must have been cone distortion if that's the case.

I definitely get more "drive" when I use a v30 loaded cab than when I use my EV loaded cab. Cone break up certainly makes a difference here and there. Especially higher decibel speakers, and many of them. I do prefer lower wattage speakers (50w or so, a piece) but with high db sensitivity. I actually just posted about cabs in other threads about how lately I've been liking all my amps much more through single 4x12's as opposed to my 6x12 rigs. I find all my amps to sound louder through a 4x12 than the latter. I blame it on uneven power distribution.

reviving this thread because I absolutely love my Model T after swapping out the tubes to some really good old Tung-Sol 6550's. Fucking, brand new amp than it was before. Shit's loud and rad.

*if* the Rat is indeed a doom standard, I'm guessing that's because it's a good distortion pedal, that's easily available and pretty much indestructable.

If you already have a Boneshaker and a Pharaoh, there's a good chance you'll be dissapointed when you try a Rat imo :idk:
You've got the end-all-be-all doom rig, a high quality clear and chuncky sounding muff clone, and a high gain distortion pedal with a parametric eq...

Most people would trade in their first born for a setup like that, from here on you might as well forget about this silly forum and spend all your time rocking out :)
