Proud new doom dad here. Unfortunately for my healthy newborn, my Ampeg V2 just got the KT88 treatment and is anything but subtle.

Have my eye on an old blueline Ampeg SS 35. Seems like it may be the ticket. Its solid state, has a headphone jack, and a line out incase I ever need to pull out my Sunn slave unit.

I know some of you guys love the Ampeg SS and VH series amps and was curious if anyone has any experience with the SS 35, not alot info on these out there. Was mainly curious if it shares the same preamp section with its bigger brothers the SS 70 and SS 140.

Good deal. The wattage is perfect for my living room, and headphone jacks are a must for whatever I purchase. If I need to bring the beef, I have a sunn slave unit that will get the job done, just needed to make sure the SS35 could cop those old skool death metal tonez.

I know dads are awesome and all, but there are plenty of ladies laying down the heavies.

Figured I'd be able to snag a blueline SS-35 cheap on the bay, but that didn't work out, fucking things are bidding out at two bills.

Thanks to the land of craig, I scored a black SS-35 w/ footswitch for $65. Fuggin stoaked. Loving the solid state Ampeg so far, and is plenty loud through a Emperor 2x12. Gets pretty damn close to some Eyehategod sludgery. I'm sold, I want a bigger one now.

Pretty happy with my rig of dad in its entirety. The Orange micro terror is a nice grab n' go for practice, and my Ampeg V2 can get back to being utilized for gigs mainly.

My guitars are an odd Gibson SG w/ pig 90's, and a Fender Jag-Stang w/ quarter pounder and a Duncan distortion.

Don't use alot effects wise, just using a SM9> EQD Acapulco Gold> DFX9> tuner. Perfect for my simple ass.

Taking the SS-35 and a Sunn Concert Slave to practice tomorrow to plug into my Marshall 4x12 to see how it stacks up to the Peavey which I've grown tired of over the years.
